Syndax Pharmaceuticals is looking for a Senior Director, Advanced Analytics Lead

The Role:
We are searching for a Senior Director, Advanced Analytics Lead responsible for spearheading all advanced analytics initiatives to deliver actionable insights from real-world data sources. This individual will leverage Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning to provide key insights/alerts to prioritize effort with HCPs across Sales and Marketing. This individual will lead the tracking of Key Performance Indicators and cross-functional scenario planning around launch KPIs. This individual will participate actively in commercial planning efforts and ensure effective cross-functional communication and alignment on critical business issues.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create AI/Machine Learning infrastructure to support key strategic initiatives
- Lead data acquisition and analysis to inform commercial strategies, tactics, and decisions
- Demonstrate a thorough understanding of real-world data sources (claims, diagnostic, EMR, etc.) to guide the organization on appropriate data sources to use for addressing key business questions
- Work with Systems Operations & Data Management lead on setting up data feeds into commercial data warehouse
- Develop a deep understanding of internal stakeholders' data and analytical needs
- Coordinate the procurement of various datasets; design and implement analytical solutions in support of various commercial initiatives
· Identify Key Performance Indicators critical for launch success and lead KPI dashboard creation
- Collaboration:
- Collaborate with various other groups including Customer Engagement, Marketing, Market Access, and other stakeholders
- Lead the design and delivery of advanced quantitative data analyses leveraging secondary data to enhance market landscape understanding and identify opportunities
- Collaborate closely across the Commercial Operations & Analytics team to ensure insights from secondary data are appropriately integrated with insights from other sources
- Monitor the external environment to stay up to date on leading analytic capabilities, both within and outside of pharma, which can be applied within the organization
- Lead the development of field and home-office reporting platform
- Instill a culture of continuous improvement, testing, and deployment of new analytical capabilities for the business
- Build advanced analytics capabilities
Desired Experience/Education and Personal Attributes:
- Proven track record of leadership, time-management, project management, and teamwork
- Previous oncology experience required; hematology-oncology a plus
- Strong interpersonal skills and a consultative mindset, with the ability to develop strong partnerships and influence without authority
- Strong knowledge of secondary data sources including syndicated sales, promotional & marketing data, longitudinal patient level data, diagnostic lab data; experience with payer data
- High degree of creativity and innovation in developing new approaches, processes, and methodologies
- Strong organizational skills and time management; ability to manage diverse range of projects simultaneously
- Proficiency in manipulating and extracting insights from large longitudinal data sources, such as claims, diagnostic, EMR and other patient level data sets. Expertise in managing and analyzing a range of large, secondary transactional databases is required
- Excellent oral and written communication skills; including describing complex data topics in simple terms
- Experience with field force analytics, including customer segmentation, targeting, and promotional response measurements
- Experience working with large complex data and corresponding query/ programming languages such as SAS, R, Python, or SQL plus experience with other big data technology such as Hadoop
- Competency in navigating large volumes of information to synthesize what’s most important and actionable
- Bachelor’s degree required with 12+ years of experience in pharma/biotech space in advanced analytics
- Considerable experience with presentation of statistical analysis results to a non-technical audience
Location: Syndax has offices in Waltham, MA and New York City and has a dispersed workforce across the United States.
Regular travel will be required for this role.
