PeopleManagement


Our On-Site business provides and manages contingent associates at clients’ facilities through our Staff Management | SMX (“Staff Management”) and SIMOS Insourcing Solutions (“SIMOS”) branded services. Our client engagements are generally multi-location and multi-year, and include scalable recruiting, screening, hiring and management of the contingent workforce. Our teams work side-by-side with the client’s full-time workforce and are an integral part of their operations with specialization in labor-intensive manufacturing, warehousing, and distribution.

PeopleManagement also provides dedicated and contingent commercial drivers to the transportation and distribution industries through our Centerline Drivers (“Centerline”) brand. Centerline matches drivers to each client’s specific needs, allowing them to improve productivity, control costs, ensure compliance and deliver improved service.


The Role


Based in Tacoma, Washington, Chicago, Illinois, or remote, the Senior Director, Business Unit Finance position will report to the Senior Vice President, Strategic Planning. The applicant will lead the operational financial planning and analysis activities of the business unit. This position will work closely with the PeopleManagement Executive Leadership Team, Operations leaders, and the Finance SVP to ensure the business unit is on pace to meet short-term and long-term profitability and return goals. The key responsibilities for this role are:

· Management Reporting & Analysis – Provides the thought leadership and related reporting of the “story behind the numbers,” providing insightful and actionable perspective on underlying trends and metrics. Leads the development of quarterly forecasts and the monthly results discussion with senior management.

· Strategy Planning – Supports the development of strategy with business leadership. Partners with other finance leaders to ensure operational strategy development efforts are in alignment with enterprise planning efforts. Shepherds the operational process to ensure strategic planning processes are carried out effectively throughout the year including appropriate documentation to ensure clear and measurable plans and milestones are in place.

· Performance Improvement – Works in a leadership position to tactfully and earnestly establish and coach to a culture of performance improvement in both Finance and Operations. Partners with divisional leadership to provide counsel, thought leadership and research support related to business unit performance improvement.


Candidate Profile


The candidate will have an equal mix of both operational and finance aptitudes. As both a business partner and a finance advisor They constantly be looking for ways to expand their influence, moving beyond the “process” of FP&A and helping lead a business unit to impressive results. They must have a big picture perspective combined with an attention to detail and a “roll-up-the-sleeves” mentality.


The successful candidate will have a proven track record in financial and operational leadership. A successful candidate will have demonstrated experience in adding value across various functional areas. The organization will look to this individual to both recommend and lead business projects that contribute to enterprise growth and profitability. They will have had direct influence on operations and supporting policies through prior experience with senior management teams. In addition, the successful candidate should have the following:


  • Deep and innate operational orientation with a keen ability to drive results and improvements across the business.
  • Strong skills in strategy development, corporate finance, forecasting and financial analysis.
  • Demonstrated experience in leveraging technology to arrive at creative, value enhancing solutions. Proven ability to utilize modern technologies and BI tools, and an ability to creatively solve problems using data and analytics.
  • An interest in further career progression within finance or operations.
  • Experience working with senior leadership teams in developing strategy with an impressive track record of results from his or her personal leadership involvement.
  • Undergraduate degree in finance, business, accounting, or a related area. An MBA is highly preferred with 10+ years of operational and financial experience.
  • High-level of knowledge and insight on current business and economic trends with an ability to link these trends to the business model to improve decision making and create value.
  • People management skills, including a proven ability to provide training and development to subordinates as part of a coordinated and strategic talent development plan. This includes understanding when and how to delegate tasks to team vs completing the work themselves.

The salary for this position is anticipated to range between $160,000 - $200,000 per year. This range is a good-faith estimate, based on the qualifications necessary for the position, including experience, training, and other considerations permitted by law. Factors that may be used when making an offer may include a candidate’s skills, experience, and geographic location, the expected quality and quantity of work, and internal pay alignment, as needed. Most candidates will start in the bottom half of the pay range. An employee’s pay history will not be a contributing factor where prohibited by local law. In addition to monetary compensation, we offer a competitive benefits package.
