Work you'll do:

As the Senior Director of Finance, reporting to the CEO and being part of our Senior Leadership Team, you will oversee all aspects of OnePet's Finance team. Your role will involve establishing, directing, and executing a financial strategy for OnePet. Building relationships across the organization, ensuring clear requirements from stakeholders, and being accountable for meeting those requirements are key responsibilities of this position. We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Senior Director of Finance who will be responsible for developing and directing the company's financial plans and policies. Reporting on metrics and optimizing growth opportunities will be crucial for maximizing scalability throughout the year.

Responsibilities:

Strategic Planning

• Establish clearly defined goals, plans, and KPIs to create accountability and operational dashboards for better visibility
• Collaboratively develop and implement an annual and quarterly financial operating plan and budget in alignment with company targets
• Conduct weekly and monthly staff meetings to track progress against strategic plans using growth and operational metrics

Finance

• Analyze and present financial reporting in an accurate and timely manner
• Execute key financial tasks, including financial modeling, forecasting, and cash flow management
• Manage bookkeeping, accounting, financial statement preparation, and tax filings
• Support capital raising activities for equity and debt
• Update and implement necessary business policies and accounting practices

Operations

• Oversee fulfillment, logistics, inventory, and planning for all lines of business, ensuring a seamless omni-channel experience
• Collaborate with attorneys on contract negotiation and management
• Manage relationships with vendors, such as legal, accounting, and finance partners

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree, preferably in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field
• Problem-solving mindset to address roadblocks and tackle complex issues as needed
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly
• Experience in the retail industry or e-commerce is a plus
• Knowledgeable about multiple aspects of Finance, including Accounting (e.g., revenue recognition principles), FP&A (budgeting and forecasting, variance reporting, metrics), and experience with Compliance (SOX) is advantageous
• 5+ years of relevant work experience in a high-growth startup or growth-stage company
• Proven track record of building Finance teams, including recruiting, managing, and developing managers and individual contributors
• Data-driven with a deep understanding of business metrics and quantitative goal-setting for prioritization
