Senior Director, Business Development

One of our clients is looking for a leader to join their growing Business Development team.

Responsibilities:

• Identify growth opportunities and areas of innovation aligned with the company's strategy
• Proactively monitor the external business environment and maintain a knowledge base of licensing transactions
• Support the identification, evaluation, and execution of acquisition, investment, and partnership opportunities across the Oncology therapeutic area, and assets, including Out-licensing/in-licensing opportunities
• Actively involved in managing alliances and ensuring their highest chance of success
• Negotiation and structuring of licensing agreements and implementation of alliances
• Support the drafting and negotiating of transaction term sheets utilizing creative deal structures and processes that result in business success and maximum value
• The Senior Director of Business Development will play a key role in developing and executing the company’s overall business strategy
• Ability to make key decisions and quickly prioritize on most interesting partnering opportunities

Qualifications:

• Must have - Scientific or clinical expertise in oncology, immuno-oncology, immunology, or related fields, including the drug development and commercialization process
• Extensive experience in biotech or pharmaceutical R&D, demonstrating international experience in multiple cultures and drug discovery / clinical environments
• MD and/or Ph.D. in the biological sciences or related fields, with 6+ years of experience in Business Development
• Ability to think critically, creatively and to anticipate and solve problems
• Highly Desirable – Scientific and/or BD&L experience in additional therapeutic areas; experience in Alliance Management
• Demonstrated experience leading and influencing experienced professionals and executives
