The Opportunity
This role, located within Ally’s Enterprise Fraud, Security department is responsible investigating incidents of suspected employee fraud and violations of policy. This position will also assist with the development and tuning of employee monitoring and behavioral detection strategies, as well as triage and review internal fraud alerts.
The Work Itself
- Work with LOB representatives to resolve escalated incidents.
- Conduct public record and company database searches to gather relevant evidence to support of investigative findings.
- Analyze data to identify evidence and trends related to fraudulent activity.
- Provide fraud investigative support for all lines of business.
- Develop and maintain working relationships with appropriate industry groups and governmental agencies.
- Assist in developing and tuning new and existing Corporate Alerting Strategies and user behavioral analytics.
- Maintain current knowledge and awareness of investigative/fraud techniques, privacy laws, bank regulations, investigation and incident handling policy and procedure.
The Skills You Bring
- Must be a "problem-solver" and be willing to get creative to overcome challenges.
- Experience using data analytics and software tools to proactively detect fraud risk.
- Must possess a strong analytic mindset.
- Travel to other business locations may be required (<10%).
- Possess good written and oral communication skills.
- 3+ years of fraud investigation and/or detection experience required, preferably in a banking, financial services, or law enforcement environment.
- MS Excel, pivot tables/v-look ups preferred
- Familiarity with business operating practices and policies within a multi-line financial institution and an understanding of financial institution operating practices and policies is desirable.
- Excellent organizational and communications skills, with a demonstrated ability to work independently and take initiative.
- Ability to foster collaborative work partnerships.
- Certifications in area of investigative specialization preferred, e.g., CFE.
- Bachelor's degree in criminal justice, business administration, or security management – or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience
- Good organizational skills with the ability to work independently and initiate proactively.
- Knowledge of risk management and control principles
- Strong attention to detail
