Position Description
Incumbent performs administrative tasks to ensure the smooth operation of the office. Incumbent is required to have a working knowledge of the U.S. House of Representatives, as well as a broad understanding of the Office of the Sergeant at Arms and all applicable legal requirements, House Rules, Committee, and Sergeant at Arms policies.
Duties Include:
1. Assists with administrative tasks in support of the Sergeant at Arms and Immediate Office personnel.
2. Assists with the management of office calendars to include Sergeant at Arms, Chief of Staff, and office conference room.
3. Assists in arranging travel needs (air/hotel/ground transportation) and compiles receipts for Administrative Division staff to coordinate reimbursement.
4. Assists with meeting preparation to include room set up and coordination of audio-visual equipment.
5. Assists in the management of office filing systems (physical and electronic), including procedures for retention and disposal of records.
6. Assists with onboarding of new SAA staff in the Immediate Office.
7. Assists with notifications for SAA leave programs to include Leave Share and Bereavement Leave and coordinates related documentation.
8. Coordinates and assists with annual time and attendance reporting for Immediate Office personnel.
9. Assists with Member Services to include the distribution of Member pins, plates, and tour requests.
10. Assists with requests for access to include vehicles, deliveries, catering, and equipment, and provides notification to the USCP as needed.
11. Submits requests for office services (e.g., furniture, repairs, phone support, etc.) and track service requests.
12. Assists with front desk reception duties as needed.
13. Assists with ordering and maintenance of office supply inventory.
14. Serves as the division Office Emergency Coordinator.
15. Assists with special events as needed.
16. Performs other duties as assigned.
Work Experience and Education:
Bachelor’s degree. A minimum of two years of experience related to the position. Must be able to pass a criminal history records check.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities (KSA)
Knowledge of policies and procedures of the House of Representatives and the United States Capitol Police; excellent organizational skills; excellent oral communications skills; strong written communications skills; strong computer skills to include the use of MS Office suite applications; detail oriented; professional telephone manner; ability to listen carefully and respond in a tactful and courteous manner to requests and inquiries from Members of Congress, congressional staff, official business visitors, and the general public; ability to work well under pressure and maintain a professional and courteous work disposition; ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships within the Congressional community; ability to maintain and troubleshoot office equipment to include telephones, copiers, and multi-function printers.
Work Schedule:
Full-time, permanent. Monday – Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Must be able to work outside of normal business hours, when necessary, evenings and weekends as needed.

Compensation
The salary range for the position is $67,797 - $77,509 per year, depending on experience. Employment benefits include medical, dental, vision, and life insurance, Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA), Health Savings Accounts (HSA), student loan repayment, retirement plans, and other benefits in addition to paid time off, sick leave, and federal holidays.

- Owe allegiance to the U.S. (i.e., qualify as a non-citizen U.S. national under federal law)
- Be lawfully admitted for permanent residence and seeking citizenship as outlined in 8 U.S.C. § 1324b(a)(3)(B)
- Be (i) admitted as a refugee under 8 U.S.C. § 1157 or granted asylum under 8 U.S.C. § 1158 and (ii) have filed a declaration of intention to become a lawful permanent resident and then a citizen when eligible
- Be a U.S. citizen
