Safety Coordinator Jobs

Position Summary

Acts as safety point of contact and provides support to assigned Business Unit; completes work according to industry standard and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Supports a safety culture of excellence for safety and environmental management through effective communication
• Conducts inspections and identifies hazards
• Assists with the development of safety documentation, including procedures, forms, and checklists
• Manages the safety aspects of contractors that do work on site
• Assists with reporting data related to safety metrics
• Assists in the development and implementation of safety Toolbox Talks
• Assists in the investigation of workplace injuries and incidents; performs roots cause analysis on accidents, work hazards, helps to support corrective actions
• Implements safety requirements, monitors training and inspection records
• Assists in the development and assessments of safety training; conducts employee training

Qualifications

• Must have ability to effectively work with people in a team environment and at various levels of the organization.
• Must have strong communication and interpersonal skills and able to influence people at all levels.
• Must have strong process skills for standardization, continuous improvement, and program management.
• A good working knowledge of safety regulations.
• College degree in a technical field such as EHS, engineering, or science or equivalent work experience.
• Experience in an industrial work environment with safety responsibilities.
• Must possess strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
• Other duties may be assigned.
• 2-3 years of applicable safety experience.
• Daily attendance is a requirement of the job, as is arriving on time. Overtime is expected when customer demand dictates the need.
• Must have a passion for safety and able to translate into practical action.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and orderly work area. Keep all walkways and aisle free of any debris or clutter. Maintain 5S standards by returning tools to shadow boards. Sweep floor and finishing area as needed.
• EHS certifications a plus.
• Proficient computer skills.
• Must have good problem-solving skills and experience.
