Songtrust is looking for a Royalty Manager to join our global royalty processing team. Yourfocus will be on international royalties and the reconciliation, ingestion, and mapping of royaltystatements from a wide variety of sources. You will report to the Director of Royalties and beresponsible for meeting individual and team goals to ensure the department meets its quarterlyobjectives. Our team takes pride in accuracy and detail, but also in efficient collaboration withthe other departments within Songtrust’s Rights Management Operations. This position can belocated in our NYC office or remote (East Coast-USA only).
- Assist in processing income in backlog, error, suspense, client adjustments, etc.
- Liaise with team members and other departments globally as it relates to Royalties
- Initiate and process transfer files and regularly scheduled interim calculations
- International royalties received
- Support internal and external rights holders and partners (e.g. Societies, Sub-Publishers,
- Team lead in processing inbound royalty statements for world ex-US sources
- Settlements
- Complete ad hoc projects as needed
- Provide accounting with a quarterly reconciliation report for our UK cash received andUK site processed income
- Advances and recoupments
- Etc.) to ensure that royalty-related issues get resolved quickly
- Coordinate inter-departmentally on ad-hoc projects and business challenges
- Identify areas of improvement and implement new processes to increase efficiency
- Oversee the processing of inbound royalty statements which includes:
- Domestic royalties received
- Coordinate with Finance to ensure VAT, GST, TVA and WHT is accurately accounted for on both inbound and outbound payments and ensure it is accounted for on our reconciliation Airtable
- Maintain and update procedural documentation
- Directly manage 1 – 3 processing coordinators and assist in their training and growth
- Regularly review royalty processing and calculations to ensure accuracy
- Manage the assignment of claims from SACEM, SABAM, and other Society writeradvances and adjustments
- The ability to accurately process inbound royalties from all World ex-US pay sources
- A strong familiarity with our World ex-US client roster
- The ability to work autonomously on assigned tasks and projects
- A working knowledge of our team’s processes and familiarity with our pay sources
- Ability to generate quarterly reconciliation reports to management
- Bi-lingual or Multi-lingual a plus
- Prior management and new hire training experience
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high productivity environment with tight deadlines
- Prior experience working with and / or managing PRO relationships
- Passion for music, numbers and details
- 4+ years of music publishing experience in a royalty processing role
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel
- Experience with Vistex Music Maestro a plus
- Resourcefulness, flexibility, and exceptional teamwork skills
- A critical thinker with the ability to foresee or anticipate departmental needs
- A strong analytical background and excellent organizational skills
- SQL and Microsoft Access experience a plus

Downtown provides base salary ranges for all positions located in the United States at the time of posting. The hiring range for this position is $65,000 annually. As a candidate for this position, your salary and related elements of compensation will be contingent upon various factors including, but not limited to, work experience, geographic location and relevant skills.
