Job Summary

The anticipated base salary for candidates for this open role is $87,000 to $117,000. The final salary offered to a successful candidate will be dependent upon factors that may include but are not limited to the type and length of experience within the job type and length of experience within the industry, education and geographic location in the within the United States.
The Revenue Accountant will play an important role in the Revance financial organization to support the growth and functions within the Revenue team, with exposure to a wide range of business activities including Product and Service revenue portfolio, partnering with FP&A, Customer Success, and Commercial IT, implementing process improvements and innovations. This role will work alongside the Manager of Revenue Accounting & Financial Reporting to provide ongoing accounting support and financial reporting relating to revenue and related areas. You will also be involved in 10Q/10K reporting, participating in the SOX compliance process, and support/interact with our external auditors. This role will also learn and develop in the fascinating world of the payment industry, including the interactions between bank, merchant, gateway, processor, and facilitator, to name a few. Essential Duties
  • Collaborate and interact closely with business partners (both on & off site), as part of information gathering, analysis and vetting.
  • Collaborate within various stakeholders to assist update and maintain Company’s revenue recognition and account receivables policies, as needed.
  • Assist in coordination with internal resources in completing significant and complex revenue accounting matters and deliverables.
  • Participate in period-end accounting close and cross functional coordination to ensure the close is completed timely.
  • Maintain proper internal controls over financial reporting and other required accounting documentation to satisfy external audit requirements.
  • May assist in implementation of new order to cash system, process and procedures including, but not limited to, test pilot, test script review, user validation, post-implementation activities and/or data migration.
  • Prepare data and other supporting information requests as needed for audits and reviews conducted by internal and external auditors.
  • Assist in other revenue areas or special projects on an as-needed basis.
  • May occasionally assist in reviewing revenue arrangements to ensure proper revenue recognition in accordance with the revenue policy and generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) including, but not limited to usage revenue (point in time), subscription (over time) revenue, customer incentives/discounts, and collaboration revenue.
  • Develop and maintain recurring financial reporting procedures in revenue accounting and reporting areas, including, but not limited to, transaction price allocations, accounting for allowances, contract assets, material right consideration, variable considerations, gross vs. net, commissions, and cut-off.
  • Take an active role within the accounting organization to drive goal achievement, while evaluating and recommending process improvements.
EDUCATION
Minimum Required
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting (or equivalent)
Preferred
  • Active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license
Experience
Minimum Required:
  • Sarbanes-Oxley 404 public accounting or industry experience
  • 2-5 years of relevant experience in industry or 1-3 years of combined industry and public accounting experience
Preferred
  • Payment industry or Biotech industry experience preferred

Preferred
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365
  • Working knowledge of product and/or subscription revenue
  • Experience using other data analytic tools such as PowerBI, UIpath, or Power Automate
  • Experience using other Microsoft Office tools such as Teams, Planner, and Visio
  • Internal or external client support experience
