Job Description
Under the direct supervision of the Principal Investigator and Research Program Coordinator, we are seeking a Research Program Assistant who will primarily assist in the day-to-day logistical and operational tasks for multiple research studies in the Department of Mental Health in the School of Public Health, Center on Aging and Health and the Department of Psychiatry in the School of Medicine. This person will be involved in a video intervention study in older adults with mild cognitive impairment and/or past traumatic brain injury (TBI).
Specific Duties & Responsibilities
Work with study faculty and Psychiatry staff to recruit and screen study participants according to protocol eligibility criteria.
Will be knowledgeable on study protocol and will be trained to obtain informed consent from study participants.
Schedule appointments for study participants. S/he will conduct pre- intervention and post- intervention neuropsychological evaluations and assist with magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) among enrolled patients.
Assist with weekly administration of an immersive video game intervention and a healthy aging program.
Responsible for re-recruiting former research participants from a community-based intervention study in older adults at increased risk for physical and cognitive impairment.
Work with lead investigators to identify, arrange and conduct re-recruitment activities, and maintain the study tracking database.
Prepare study materials and conduct phone evaluations. S/he will routinely enter study data into databases and conduct quality control queries, thereby collecting and organizing study data.
May also assist with developing reports within REDCap and generating descriptive statistical reports.
Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma or graduation equivalent, with some college courses preferred.
Some related experience
Additional education may substitute for required experience, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience using REDCap to store data and create report
Experience with guiding participants through study protocols and assessments
Experience with social media outreach for recruitment
Experience with statistical analyses and analytical software (e.g., STATA, SAS, SPSS)

JHU Equivalency Formula: 30 undergraduate degree credits (semester hours) or 18 graduate degree credits may substitute for one year of experience. The pre-employment physical for positions in clinical areas, laboratories, working with research subjects, or involving community contact requires documentation of immune status against Rubella (German measles), Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Varicella (chickenpox), Hepatitis B and documentation of having received the Tdap (Tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis) vaccination. This may include documentation of having two (2) MMR vaccines; two (2) Varicella vaccines; or antibody status to these diseases from laboratory testing.
