We're seeking a motivated technician to join our cell-based assay group, contributing to experiments to support a well-established contract research organization focused on providing preclinical support for federal and commercial clients. Individuals with experience in cell culture and cell-based assays are strongly urged to submit their applications. The research associate will exercise technical discretion in the design, execution, and interpretation of experiments that contribute to project deliverables.

Qualifications:

• Exceptional organizational skills, adeptness at multitasking, and effective communication abilities.
• Mandatory experience in mammalian cell culture.
• Demonstrated technical expertise and unwavering commitment to scientific integrity.
• Possess a Bachelor of Science degree or higher, with a minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in cellular and molecular biology.
• Proficiency in two or more of the following fundamental laboratory techniques related to cellular and molecular biology is a plus- mammalian cell culture, cell transfections, cell-based assays, and PCR.
• Ability to thrive within a collaborative and enthusiastic team environment, fostering collective success.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate on and execute laboratory experiments for assigned research projects, adhering to established protocols. Specifically, participate in the preparation of viral stocks; manage and maintain laboratory inventory to ensure seamless operations.
• Assist in the execution of diverse cell-based assays, including formulation, cell and reagent preparation, and quality control of data. Assist in various technical projects, encompassing cell culture methods, antiviral/antibacterial assays, flow cytometry, DNA/RNA/protein extraction, qPCR, ELISA, immunoassays, and reporter assays.
• Serve as a backup for tissue culture requirements pertaining to cell line maintenance.
• Document experimental procedures meticulously in laboratory notebooks and batch records. Analyze and present experimental findings during internal meetings.
• Embrace a proactive approach to personal development, readiness to learn new techniques and skills as required.
• Foster clear and concise communication with fellow team members within the Cell Based Assay Group cultivating efficiency and synergy. Provide well-defined delivery timelines, essential documentation, and articulate data presentations to support ongoing and completed tasks.
