Our solution is offered to patients with infectious and chronic diseases such as tuberculosis, HIV, hepatitis C, opioid addiction/substance abuse, diabetes, asthma, and mental health. We partner with Johns Hopkins and other academic medical centers and adherence experts across the country to develop and validate our tech-enabled solution.


About You


We are looking for an experienced, passionate, and motivated Program Manager for Research, who will ensure the success of major sponsored research projects at Scene reporting to the Senior Director of Research. You will have the opportunity to work on a small but growing team and work cross-functionally throughout the entire organization - program management, product development, and business development. We are a distributed team with collaborations all over the country, so this is a remote position. Responsibilities:


  • Develop and manage budgets for all grants for sponsored research.
  • Design, implement, and coordinate specific program and project activities
  • Organize and conduct meetings among business units, contributors, collaborators, and partners
  • Plan, direct, and execute annual and periodic research performance progress reports
  • Generate reports that assist to control resources and analyze expenditure data and forecast potential costs to assist in budget preparations.
  • Provide instruction, preparation assistance, and support related to grant application procedures, including writing and developing grant proposals, and support of other business development activities as needed
  • Develop strategies that can improve grants management processes and compliance and supports regulatory compliance with partners as needed
  • Liaise with external collaborators (sub-awardees) and partners, coordinate with business units and internal contributors to ensure project milestones are met
  • Establish, document, and share repeatable and scalable program management processes and procedures for research programs and exchange learnings and resources with the Program Management Office
  • Communicate with the Senior Director - Research, Principal Investigator(s), and Scene Executive Team regarding deliverables and programmatic tasks and issues as needed
  • Establish and track project plans, timelines, and milestones of assigned activities and tasks
  • Ensure the success and performance of sponsored research projects at Scene, including tracking toward project objectives, activities, timelines, milestones, budgets, and deliverables, and reporting on a routine basis
  • Actively liaise with the Finance department in a collaborative manner
  • Track and manage resources and timelines to ensure all projects are on budget and schedule
  • Contribute to product and technical development conversations to enhance Scene’s product features, program management, design, and services
  • Respond to inquiries and concerns from business units and external collaborators and partners as needed


Required Qualifications:


  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Demonstrated track record in managing several projects simultaneously to meet various concurrent deadlines
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Employs methodical approaches, strategic thinking, and strong organizational and prioritization skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to effectively and collaboratively interact with personnel at all levels within Scene Health as well as outside contacts
  • Demonstrated program and project management abilities, including budgeting experience
  • Action-oriented problem solver, with a growth mindset, who is willing to roll up their sleeves
  • Ability to work collaboratively within cross-functional teams and independently under tight deadlines
  • Five years of program and project management experience for multiple, simultaneous sponsored projects related to or in support of clinical translational research


Preferred Qualifications:


  • Experience working at a startup, or building a program, service, or product from the ground up
  • Familiarity and experience with grant writing (e.g., HHS agencies such as NIH, especially the Small Business Innovation (SBIR) program and private foundations) and business development strategies and practices (e.g., RFP, RFQ)
  • Master’s or other advanced degree in public health, clinical research, management, business, or a related field
  • Familiarity and experience with sponsor agency reporting and auditing policies and requirements (e.g., HHS agencies such as NIH, especially the Small Business Innovation (SBIR) program and private foundations)
  • Familiarity and/or experience working in clinical translational research and on Phase II/III clinical trials for academic and commercial partners, research with and for public health programs, health and clinical care teams, and/or in digital health technology
  • Familiarity with software development, environments, and working with technical teams to drive performance and achievement of product development objectives
  • CITI or other human subjects research protection training and certification, GCRP training
