Why We’re Hiring a Research Manager
As our member base grows, our Data Science & Analytics team needs to grow to ensure we’re delivering meaningful and impactful content to larger swaths of our audience. We’re rapidly growing our Research Program, and need a passionate Research Manager who can design and execute research strategies that help us learn more about our audience, brand, and impact. In just the last year we’ve vastly expanded our research toolkit to include rapid message testing, field RCTs, focus groups, longitudinal insights and more. Our department plans to continue to grow and strengthen these offerings in the years ahead.
What You’ll Be Responsible For
The Research Manager will work closely with the Director of Research and Experimentation to build and execute a well-rounded WorkMoney Research Program. The Research Associate’s primary responsibilities will include managing a portfolio of research projects, conducting statistical analysis on datasets, and leveraging data to draw actionable conclusions about WorkMoney’s programs, products, and memberbase. We are looking for an experienced researcher who is comfortable designing and executing diverse research projects, managing multiple projects simultaneously, and working collaboratively with cross-functional teams to guarantee success. In the first year, key responsibilities will include:
  • Serving as a thought-leader and collaborator as we build out the WorkMoney research toolkit
  • Managing the day-to-day operations of the research projects in your portfolio
  • Assisting in the design and execution of a portfolio of research projects that span WorkMoney departments and teams
  • Analyzing data and communicating results to diverse audiences
  • Supporting teams across the org to help them leverage research strategy to make data-driven decisions
Requirements
What You’ll Need to be Successful
We’re looking for a team member who is passionate about learning, and is inspired by the idea of applying their research and statistical skills toward helping Americans afford to live a good life. We want someone who is excited to take on the challenge of collaboratively building something from the ground up.
Must Haves
  • Proven ability to communicate research findings to diverse audiences
  • Advanced proficiency in statistics and research methodology
  • Advanced proficiency in R or other data programming language optimized for statistical analysis
  • Advanced degree (MA/MS or above) from a research-intensive program (Psychology, Political Science, Behavioral Economics, or a related field)
  • 2+ years designing and executing survey-based, quantitative research projects as the primary or lead investigator
  • Self-motivated and intellectually curious - driven by the desire to learn
Nice to Haves
  • Experience working with qualitative data
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams
  • Experience conducting research in a political setting
  • Experience working with longitudinal data
  • Management experience
  • Experience conducting research in a product/industry setting
  • Experience working with RCT (experimental) data
