Summary
The Research Intern will contribute to the understanding of audiences across the engagement spectrum and build a deeper understanding of why readers are engaging with products and what needs are being fulfilled with a subscription.
The successful candidate will work independently to craft a research question, design a relevant research program and finally deliver a presentation with findings and evidence to the internal team. The Research Manager will guide, assist and support the position along this process.

Major Job Objective and description of responsibilities/milestones/key objectives
The Research Intern will engage with a single research project – guiding the process from concept to final reporting and oversee each interim step. They will work closely with the Research Manager, marketing and editorial to craft the project, design the information gathering apparatus, analyze resulting data and finally report on findings and analysis.
Education/Certification
REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

• 1+ year(s) of relevant coursework and/or experience working in consumer/market research, research methodologies, data collection and analysis.

Work Experience

• Experience working in consumer/market research

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities

• Some experience with business intelligence and data visualizations tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Looker, Domo, QlikView or similar
• Proficiency in research methodologies
• General understanding of current media landscape
• Understand of research tools such as Alchemer (SurveyGizmo), SurveyMonkey or similar survey tool

Essential Functions

• Be able to draw connections and identify themes among disparate instances and discrete data sources
• Conduct primary, qualitative research (i.e. ethnographic research in the field, observing and/or interacting with users, qualitative surveys, interviews, etc.) on a timeline that gives adequate time for planning, sourcing appropriate participants, and other critical factors
• A passion for seeing things in new ways and evolving the presentation data

The pay for this position is $20.00 an hour. This is the pay range the Company reasonably expects to pay for this position at the time of this posting.
