Research And Policy Analyst

NIHCM Foundation is looking for an enthusiastic team player to join our small and collaborative office. The Research and Policy Analyst will assist in executing the Foundation’s programming and support NIHCM’s mission to transform health care through evidence and collaboration.

Position Description

Health Policy Research and Analysis

• Research and create data visualizations on key health care topics
• Support the development and execution of NIHCM’s health policy webinar series
• Support additional policy products as needed, including NIHCM’s newsletter

Journalism Grants and Awards Management/Administrative Support

• Support the tracking and solicitation of Journalism Award entries
• Assist with annual review of grantee proposals for funding
• Manage the Journalism Grants entry system and application process
• Track grantee deliverables
• Assist with promotional materials related to the NIHCM Awards and with planning and executing the dinner awards presentation
• Manage the entry system and application process for the Journalism Awards

Communications Assistance

• Support event outreach, advertising and dissemination of NIHCM products
• Draft, build and disseminate product mailings
• Assist with website updates
• Assist with reviewing analytics related to program evaluation, impact tracking, and audience engagement
• Assist with updating and supporting NIHCM’s audience database as needed
• Assist with managing social media accounts and creating content tailored to NIHCM platforms

Attend Health Care Events

• Represent NIHCM at health care events and briefings and share relevant content with the NIHCM team

Requirements

• Level of experience: 1-3 years
• Interest in health care and health policy, including areas such as health care affordability, health equity, behavioral health and social determinants of health
• Experience working across social media platforms
• Strong written and verbal communications
• Desire to work collaboratively as a member of a highly interactive team
• Experience or willingness to work with systems, including Mailchimp, Capsule, Good Grants and Infogram
• Experience with data visualization and storytelling preferred
• Bachelor’s degree combined with relevant work experience or Master’s degree in policy, public health, journalism, communications or related field
• Excellent attention to detail, strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks

We build the evidence base by supporting research and journalism, spark insights and collaboration by bringing new ideas to large audiences, and bring a real-world market perspective to issues. NIHCM Foundation is the sister organization of NIHCM LLC. NIHCM LLC engages with chief executives, policymakers and policy experts to share best practices and insights on how to improve the health care system. Our office works remote on a day-to-day basis, convening in person 2-3 times a year for in-person meetings.
