Whistle Stop Capital supports asset owners and managers in assessing, and then addressing, social and environmental issues within their investment portfolios. We work with companies, on behalf of their investors, to help them improve across a wide range of sustainability topics, such as workplace equity, social justice, climate change, labor rights, and political involvement. We are looking for a quantitatively focused analyst with a strong understanding of the financial markets and a passion for how they might be deployed to improve social and environmental conditions.
We're a small company with an experienced and passionate team, working in a growing field. An ideal candidate will understand that the duties, responsibilities, and activities associated with this role will be constantly changing.
This role will require the candidate to:
·Use quantitative risk models and optimization programs
·Extract, update, and combine data from a number of different datasets and sources
·Communicate and display data-focused findings
·Provide analytic support for client consulting projects
·Develop and implement process improvements
·Maintain and service relationships with clients
Candidate qualities:
·Comfortable with statistical analysis and modeling, validating data analysis results, use of statistical methods, and able to create graphs/ visuals and communicate the results of their research
·Excellent analytical skills and computer competencies, with an emphasis on quantitative analysis and comfort working with large data sets
·Knowledge of securities markets, products, and behavior; interested in the capital markets and their behavior
·Strong organizational and time management skills
·Comfortable working in a consensus-driven environment with the ability to respect and learn from those with differing world views
·Problem solver who views uncertainty as an opportunity to identify new solutions
·Must be comfortable in a changing, growing, entrepreneurial environment.
The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor’s degree and 2 to 7 years of relevant experience. A demonstrated interest in finance and sustainability/ESG topics is essential. MBA, master's in a quantitatively focused discipline, CFA or CFA candidacy is a definite plus.
The position is fully remote and how you set your hours will be up to you. Individuals seeking reduced or part-time employment will also be considered.
The salary range is based on breadth and depth of skills as well as years of experience: $60,000 - $115,000.
Total compensation may also include a discretionary performance-based bonus. There is a significant opportunity for salary and responsibility growth.
