Regional Logistics Manager

The Opportunity

Drive performance to meet or exceed budget for Transportation and Warehousing spend across Paper Mill, Packaging, and Recycling Supply Chain. As the subject matter expert regarding logistics, provide effective solutions and align strategies to drive reduced cost and improved service within an assigned region. Work with Freight Procurement and location leadership to ensure Supply Chain strategies are aligned regarding Transportation (All modes). Establish and utilize analytical, data-based decision making to identify and drive improved transportation and warehousing performance. Use KPIs to monitor and report progress within your region on monthly basis.

How You Will Impact WestRock

• Facilitate meetings with business units/facilities leadership to align expectations for budget and cost savings projects.
• Submit monthly reports that track progress vs targets using standardized format for all savings projects initiated in your region.
• Facilitate resolution of all transportation and distribution issues at each facility to ensure service meets the locations needs.
• Facilitate and/or conduct routine meetings with the core carriers in region both inbound and outbound to ensure service and cost meet company goals.
• Ownership of plant/area/region’s key performance indicators (KPIs) actual vs. target monthly for both operational and financial results
• Identify and drive actual vs. budget variance closing initiatives, cost savings and service improvement opportunities at each facility.
• Support the implementation and optimization of carrier service between OTR, Dedicated Fleets, and spot market throughout an assigned region.

What You Need To Succeed

• Ability to work across all levels of leadership in an organization in both corporate and field operations to drive financial and operational performance
• 7+ years of transportation management experience
• Previous experience being accountable to P&L performance
• Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Business, Transportation or Logistics
