Job Description
Job Purpose


The Regional Operations Manager is a key leadership position reporting directly to the Dealers Choice Regional Vice President. This role is responsible for high level operational assessments, collaborating and executing in conjunction with District Managers and Senior Leadership to develop plans to enhance and optimize branch operations. This strategic position will also own, track, and report to senior Leadership regarding the continuous improvements that align to strategic priorities that target efficiencies, reduction of operating cost and the enhancement of customer experience.


Duties And Responsibilities


  • Partner with Branch Managers and Branch Revitalization team to implement optimization improvements impacting warehouse layout changes, efficiency improvements, and staffing optimizations.
  • Drive workflow optimization including but not limited to operations, sales, and service initiatives such as our OTC (On Time and Complete) implementation and digital sales efforts.
  • Track, reports, and measure metrics to optimize branch overall effectiveness pertaining to Dealers Choice operations.
  • Develop a working cadence with functional departments such as FP&A, Supply Chain, Sales, etc. to uncover margin, purchasing and cost-saving opportunities.
  • Participate in monthly P&L and progress review with Branch and District Managers.
  • Monitor existing and new business processes for improvement opportunities. Will also track, measure, and report progress on improvement opportunities.
  • Embody and model Beacon’s mission, vision, and values at all times.
  • Exhibit and execute in a manner and mindset of excellence, improvement, and innovation, aligned with Beacon goals and performance metrics.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge through world class operations benchmarking.
  • Serve as a change facilitator by collaborating with champions in the division, region, and branches to transform the continuous improvement/learning culture.
  • Will champion “CX” customer experience program and ensure successful implementation for the region. Will review, revise, and update policies and training as needed.


Qualifications


  • Minimum of 10 years of demonstrated progressive experience in both operations and sales
  • Proven ability to think and act strategically, but also willing to “roll up sleeves.”
  • Strong influencing and coaching skills. Proven experience in developing and coaching a team.
  • Excellent communications skills, both oral and written
  • Six Sigma Green Belt certification a plus
  • Ability to present complex information to a variety of audiences
  • Ability to be effective in a highly matrixed environment, to effectively communicate with and influence all levels of the organization and drive change.
  • Excellent leadership skills and the ability to prioritize and drive multiple projects and teams
  • Familiarity with traditional and modern training methods, tools, and techniques
  • Experience leading continuous improvement initiatives
  • Superior and demonstrated leadership, team building, communication, presentation, interpersonal, and coaching skills and the ability to ensure accountability using Lean Management Principles.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop comprehensive company programs and processes
  • Strong ability to work in changing environment, see through complexity.
  • Proven experience managing cost savings and yield improvement projects
  • Job experience working in or leading a warehouse distribution operation
  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field of service
  • Demonstrated successful experience working in a demanding, high performance work environment and team-oriented culture.
  • Willing to travel weekly throughout the market to maintain on-site presence at local branches
  • Proficient with Personal Computer applications (Excel, Word, Power Point, Visio, AS400 Based Warehouse Management Systems, TMS, Fleet Management and Routing Tools.)
