Job Description

We are looking for a Senior Supervisor to join our Logistics team at our Jefferson, GA location. The Senior Supervisor will work with the Logistics Manager and Supervisors to coordinate the efforts of forklift drivers and other team members in the execution of their duties including unloading, receiving, repacking, put-away, and replenishment.


Responsibilities

  • Carry out supervisory responsibilities including planning, assigning and directing work, appraising and reviewing performance, and resolving problems
  • Assists in coordinating work schedules and warehouse operations to ensure production needs are met
  • Assists with meeting goals related to on-time delivery, receiving, productivity, resource allocation and inventory
  • Carry out responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws
  • Responsible for maintaining a safe working environment and ensuring all departmental employees are trained and adhere to safety policies and guidelines
  • Develop team members in process, job, and skills knowledge
  • Prepare and present department conditions for management and executives
  • Ensures corporate standards regarding safety, security, care of equipment and facility, etc. are followed
  • Inspects warehouse facilities and equipment and recommends changes in the allocation of space, storage and maintenance
  • Investigate and understand process problems determining root cause and countermeasures
  • Ensures the availability of parts required for production by coordinating with production and other departments
  • Utilize problem-solving tools, including 5-Why, Fishbone diagram, PDCA, etc.
  • Understand and comply with ISO9001 and ISO14001 requirements


Qualifications

  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers and employees
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • Strong organization and multi-tasking skills
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret reports and procedure manuals
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Good computer skills (Google Suite, Microsoft Office, etc.)
  • Ability to operate forklift and other warehouse equipment safely
  • Experience with AS400, MES, and WMS preferred
  • Familiarity with procurement processes and order fulfillment
  • 3+ years in a logistics leadership role preferred
  • Excellent verbal, written, and leadership abilities
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Degree in Operations, Logistics, Business Management, or a related field preferred


The position is generally designated as a 1st shift position but may be required to periodically work other shifts to support business needs.
