Job Description

Brown & Brown is seeking a Regional Controller to join our growing team in St Petersburg! The Regional Controller will work closely with the Regional Finance Leader to complete the month-end process and provide support in streamlining processes as well as ensuring the processes are being followed by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Functions:
  • Coordinating and preparing financial statements
  • Planning and coordinating all accounting operational functions
  • Managing the budget process
  • Evaluating accounting and internal control systems
  • Responsible for team performance metrics
  • Coordinating activities of internal/external auditors
  • Month-end and quarter-end close
  • Assessing current accounting operations, offering recommendations for improvement and implementing new processes
  • Hiring, training and retaining skilled accounting staff
  • Managing the accumulation and consolidation of all financial data necessary for an accurate accounting of consolidated business results

Qualifications:
Required:
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
  • Minimum education or prior job experience- Bachelor’s Degree (B.A.) from four year college or university; and three to four years related experience.
  • Proficient with MS Office.
