Position Summary: The Project Manager oversees and directs installation projects from conception to completion and serves as a point of contact between the Company and the assigned clients.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Review site plans and/or landscape architectural drawings for discrepancies or inaccuracies in materials, quantities, equipment, or labor assumptions
- Communicate customer service issues to the appropriate foreman and crews, and determine corrective action needs and inform department manager of any corrective action needs
- In cooperation with the Director of Operations identify, interview, and hire foreman and crew technicians, including terminations as appropriate
- Source and assist sales with the proposal process by assisting with scope review, pricing, contract evaluation, etc.
- Conduct final walk-throughs with client, as necessary, and correct small warranty issues, at time of observation, when possible
- Conduct appropriate site visits, email or phone calls with clients upon receipt of customer service requests and manage client expectations
- Immediately submit accident reports to your supervisor
- Re-inspect client sites upon completion of corrective service actions and notify customer of completion
- Daily problem solving and response to last minute issues
- Verify and approve daily timekeeping of assigned crews
- Ensure product and service standards through strict quality control by conducting thorough reviews and inspections of completed work
- Conduct appropriate training of foreman and crew technicians
- Conduct contract start-ups in coordination with Director of Operations, as assigned
- Perform pre-installation site visits to aid in planning/execution of work, as necessary
- Identify site specific equipment and supply needs and submit requests to the Director of Operations
- Ensure optimal productivity and adherence to project timeline and budget through cost management, revenue optimization, and accurate and timely billing
- Implementation of Company safety and training programs
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
- Manage and schedule foreman and crews for assigned clients in companies' Field Service Management Software
Authorities: Hire and fire foreman and crew technicians under the direction of the Director of Operations
Knowledge and Skills Required:
- Appropriate level of understanding of the landscape business, products, markets, personnel, outside influencers, etc.
- Demonstrated capacity to embrace change. Ability to manage work under pressure
- Excellent organizational abilities. Ability to prioritize projects, handle a multitude of activities simultaneously, problem solve, and pay thorough attention to detail is essential
- Understanding of quality principles, continuous learning, customer focus and service, teamwork and partnering skills, be professional, courteous, and always act with respect and integrity
- Excellent written and verbal communication, listening, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to gain an understanding, embrace, and use the Company’s internal databases, platforms, and associated technologies
Education and Experience: High school diploma or GED required. At least 5-years of experience in the construction industry, landscape design, installation or maintenance required. Experience managing and scheduling crews is desired. Must have a valid driver’s license and be legally authorized to work in the United States.
Working Conditions: Working conditions are normal for the services provided by the Company. Physical labor may be required.
