PSI, an Intertek company, is searching for a Senior Project Manager to join our Building & Constructionteam in our Austin, Texas office. This is a fantastic opportunity to grow a versatile career in the architectural, engineering, and construction (A/E/C) industry!

How you’ll make an impact at Intertek:

• Ensures project quality and client satisfaction by responding to client requests in a timely fashion.
• Communicates effectively with client and project teams.
• Monitors project budget and initiate change orders.
• Performs project scope and budget management by tracking weekly and monthly budget expenditures.
• Must be aware of, and adhere to, safety practices and policies to ensure your own safety, as well as the safety of others who may be affected by your actions at work.
• Assists with account collection follow up and project billing functions.
• Performs project close out duties.
• Allocates project staff and resources effectively and efficiently.
• Attends project meetings, leads quality discussions by providing weekly logs of non-conforming results or open items in need of closure.
• Reviews invoices.
• Reviews and Signs Test Reports.
• Reviews Technical Methods performed by Field Staff and Onsite Lab Staff and provides technical oversight, if applicable.
• Maintains Client relationships, leverages and develops new project opportunities.
• Projects staffing needs based on workflow and requests additional resources with advance notice.

What it takes to be successful in this role:

• Must be able to travel up to 25% of the time
• Must be able to work off shift and overtime as needed
• Ability to lead and supervise others
• PE License is preferred
• Effective communication skills (written, verbal and listening) and solid interpersonal skills are required
• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering is required
• Experience with projects more than $50 million construction cost is preferred
• 2+ years’ project management experience in Construction Materials Testing and Geotechnical services is required
• External (or task related) certifications based on region and state preferred
• Master's Degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management is preferred
• Internal PMCP completion within 6 months of hire

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift, move, push and pull 30 to 50 pounds frequently; Occasionally, over 50 pounds with assistance
• Ability to work over night hours and off shift
• Ability to walk and stand for long periods of time
• Ability to work outdoors in adverse weather conditions, including hot and cold temperatures
• Ability to climb occasionally, and work at various heights
• Ability to kneel and squat occasionally
• Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, (hearing) and to make the discriminations in sound
