Position Overview
The Issues Management Office (IMO) is seeking a Program Manager (PM) to join their Issue Resolution and Delivery team. This department is responsible for the successful resolution, delivery and execution of risk reduction projects for the Enterprise, Operations and Technology Division.
The Program Manager provides leadership and direction on high-profile, high-visibility, risk management efforts within a Fortune 100 Financial Services Company. These projects require the development of trusted-partner relationships with firm customers and the ability to identify high value innovative alternatives and solutions over a range of information technology capabilities.
- The Program Manager will be a hybrid role and work very closely with FreddieMac customers and technical counterparts to design and implement critical configuration and deployment changes to reduce risk
- The Program Manager is responsible for building collaborative relationships to better align company’s needs relative to existing and/or new technology solutions
Your Work Falls into These Two Primary Categories: Technology Delivery & Execution
- Has oversight of the purpose, status, and plans for all projects as well as cross project dependencies and achievement of business outcomes
- Engage directly with business area customers to identify initiatives and develop arguments as needed
- Responsible for the management of significant projects across the enterprise
- Establish operational objectives, workplans, and reporting cadence
Your Impact:
- Develop creative alternatives to business and technical issues arising from impact assessments to achieve offering objectives
- Sometimes referred to as an internal consultant using skills to perform needs and/or gap analysis between current and future state and working on multi-disciplinary projects that require a broad understanding of the firm and its key functions.
- Develop a solid understanding of the Issue Management methodology, project management governance change initiatives, and business processes.
- Responsible for the management of a portfolio of Issues and related technology efforts (project management responsibilities include building and implementing comprehensive project plans, status reporting, customer management, Issue closure and project rollout planning)
- Have direct interaction with management regarding status, progress, and impediments.
- Responsible for leading a team of project managers assigned to handle the individual Issues and projects.
- Ability to set standards for the team.
- Sound multi-tasking and organizational skills: project management, well organized, dependable, assertive, and results oriented.
- Ability to facilitate meetings and conference calls (leading the flow and keeping them on track) including scheduling the meetings; developing agendas and meeting minutes; providing and documenting, tracking, and following-up on action items from the meetings.
- Collaborate with internal business partners, Internal Audit, and Enterprise Risk Management.
- Partner closely with the EO&T Risk Management team and Issue Owners to coordinate Issue delivery activities.
- Optimally manage assigned efforts through the use of standard project management tools, including project work plans, issue logs, status reporting.
Qualifications:
- Knowledge and experience developing Project Plans and Dependency documents
- At least 8-10 years of project management experience.
- At least 3 – 5 years of management and leadership experience.
- Knowledge and experience applying basic project management processes
- Knowledge of Issue Management and Risk Management.
- Ability to interface directly with the client and cross functional project teams to facilitate project delivery on schedule with minimal oversight
- Proficient with Microsoft suite of applications; to include Project, Excel and Word
- Demonstrable experience and ability to meet expectations in a process-oriented environment
- Strong written and verbal skills

- Requires the ability to change the thinking of, or gain acceptance from, others in sensitive situations, without damage to relationship
- Establish and assure alignment to budgets, schedules, work plans, and performance requirements
- Work on issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth knowledge of organizational objectives
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize workload; often times supporting multiple concurrent effort in various capacities (leading one or more efforts while supporting others)
- Ability to lead a team of 3-4 Project Managers
- Know the latest on policies, processes and procedures that impact product and Issue delivery process improvements
- Ensure team is operating in the most effective way possible and have the appropriate level of skills and capabilities to be successful
- Regularly get along with senior management or executive levels on matters concerning several functional areas, divisions, and/or customers
- Strong business judgment and decision-making skills; problem solving, coupled with attention to detail
