Position Summary
The Production Engineer will be a key member of our South Texas Production Operations team and is expected to manage profitability and production within an area of responsibility, to work side by side with a multi-disciplinary team, to design and optimize artificial lift, and maintain close communication with the field operations. The Production Engineer role will report to the Director of Production (TX) and will be based on-site in the Irving, TX office. However, this position must be willing to travel to our field operations on a regular basis.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Coordinate with the field operations teams to optimize base production and reduce downtime
- Lead regularly scheduled well reviews with field operations and reservoir engineers
- Demonstrate health, safety & environmental leadership
- Create AFE's for workovers, recompletions, and well maintenance operations
- Manage assigned production in the South Texas production area, with an emphasis on new and existing horizontal wells producing on gas lift, rod pump, jet pump, or plunger
- Diagnose root cause of surface and subsurface failures, derive options for corrections, evaluate economics, execute corrective plan optimally, and perform lookbacks to improve systematic and reoccurring failures
- Demonstrate a willingness and ability to train and work with engineering techs to improve efficiency and effectiveness in all workflows, processes, and use of data analytics
- Spend time in the field as needed for project support
- Monitor well performance and conduct reservoir surveillance to develop action plans to maximize the value of the asset
- Work closely with a full asset team field operations, marketing, reservoir, drilling, completions, facilities, geology, land, and regulatory groups
- Track and monitor LOE and capital spending to ensure compliance with budgets
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, and establishing personal networks
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Manage and optimize chemical programs treating scale, corrosion, H2S, etc.
Qualifications
Required Education, Experience, Licensure
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Petroleum, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering or related field of study
- Possess valid driver’s license and clean driving record (MVR) that meet Company’s Insurance qualifications to operate Company vehicle
- Minimum Three (3) years of experience in Production, Operations, and/or Reservoir Engineering in the Exploration & Production (E&P) or relevant industry
