We are looking for a Senior Production Manager to join our team in Easton Maine! McCain Food’s facility in Easton is a large-scale food processing plant, employing approximately 400 employees. This site specializes in the production of specialty cut fries for food service and retail.
Position Summary:
As the Senior Production Manager you will coordinate plant-wide operations, with primary responsibility for production, You will ensure products are produced safely, efficiently and with the highest of quality according to company, government and customer specifications. The incumbent also provides mentoring, direction, and guidance to departmental production managers and shift managers. The Senior Production Manager is the primary point-of-contact for the plant manager on all plant operations, and will proactively provide the plant manager with all relevant information to ensure successful operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Help to build and promote a strong “teamwork” environment.
- Work cohesively with all plant management and staff.
- Coordinate the efficient use of raw materials and ingredients in the making of french fries and specialty products.
- Manage production manager
- Oversee budgeting for area of responsibility to maximize cost savings.
- Assist in preparation for, completion, review, and follow up, for audits.
- Provide input and support in creation and furtherance of capital projects.
- Participate in planning personnel safety and plant protection activities.
- Ensure good manufacturing practices are followed.
- Understand and adhere to the concepts and techniques of the quality process in order to ensure a quality operation.
- Perform all duties on either day or night shift as assigned, and/or required by demands.
- Review product standards with cost control personnel to achieve correct budgeting of lines and products produced.
- Daily, review cost report and areas of concern with plant manager.
- Review production schedule for all lines to ensure best plan for low cost production.
- Participate in continuous improvement process.
- May be required to fill in for plant manager upon appointment.
- On-site requirement - must perform duties onsite, except those duties which are customarily or by nature performed offsite, such as meeting with customers offsite at their request or for marketing purposes.
- Advise, coordinate and lead all activities within area of responsibility at the Easton facility.
- Responsible for staffing and development of personnel in their respective areas.
- Other projects/duties as assigned or needed.
- Implement lean manufacturing practices relative to safety, quality, cost, delivery and people (sqcdp).

Qualifications:
- Strong leadership, reasoning, and judgment will be required to facilitate proper planning and implementation.
- Excellent oral and written skills required.
- Minimum of five years of production management experience.
- Strong communication skills and project management experience.
- A four-year degree in a related field from college or university.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word.
