Description:

The role of the Chemical Engineer will encompass every stage of energetics technology implementation, including the creation of new products, assistance in manufacturing, and providing specialized operational support. The engineer will be responsible for preparing explosives for initiators, as well as assessing and experimenting with energetic substances utilized in downhole tools.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Improve materials for better performance.
• Excel in chemical lab work, devising tests for troubleshooting.
• Learn chemical analysis tools (HPLC, DSC, TGA, IR) to gauge energetic material quality.
• Analyze to predict and address failures.
• Create detailed technical reports and impactful presentations.
• Technical skills to material-related engineering.
• Integrate new technologies from materials industry.
• Manage suppliers and subcontractors in material manufacturing.
• Evaluate materials for contracts and implement controls.
• Enhance product quality through data analysis.
• Know particle size reduction and granulation methods.
• Understand energetic materials like RDX, HMX, HNS, NONA, and black powder.
• Advise on material selection, characterization, and product enhancement.
• Collaborate with Tech Support, field, and clients on material aspects.
• Investigate and rectify service quality incidents.

Required Qualifications:

• Effective teamwork and independent work capabilities.
• Experienced in project management and relevant communication software (MS Office).
• Solid grasp of chemical analysis principles.
• Thorough understanding of explosives and energetic materials, including propellants.
• Hold a Master’s degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering, along with explosives industry experience.
• Strong English technical communication skills (both written and oral), adept at presenting experimental details and analysis coherently.
• Proficiency in using analytical tools like HPLC, DSC, TGA, and IR.
• Skilled in failure analysis and identifying root causes.
• Able to select and perform appropriate analytical techniques and lab tests for material analysis.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Over 3 years of experience in research, engineering, or manufacturing.
• Familiarity with manufacturing techniques like nitration, Ullmann coupling, crystallization, and granulation.
• Education or experience in handling energetic materials.
• PhD in an applicable Engineering or Materials Science field.
