Air Liquide Large Industries provides our customers with industrial gas and energy solutions that are vital to their own industrial production. We own and operate over 2,000 miles of industrial gas pipelines in the U.S. supplying mainly oxygen, nitrogen, hydrogen and syngas in large quantities from multiple production sources to major customers in the chemicals, petrochemicals, refining and steel industries. Our pipeline operations and industrial gas production facilities are closely monitored 24/7 within our leading-edge operations control center located in Houston, Texas. Our operations control group monitors over 89,000 data points and assists with product supply and coordination. We are constantly optimizing our supply network to provide high reliability and energy efficiencies allowing Air Liquide to adjust supply needs more quickly and effectively enabling growth to our customers.
How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW?
The SCADA Support Engineer’s mission is to manage the development & support of the GeoSCADA system. The new GeoSCADA system is currently in the definition phase, but this role will be crucial to the deployment of the new system & replacement of the existing SCADA solution. This person is an expert within the Pipeline Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition application and works closely with the Operations Control Center business owners to assist in day-to-day development needs, along with 24 hour emergency support after the system has been deployed. This person serves as the functional point of contact for SCADA System and is the link to the various IT resources needed for successful implementation of business needs.- Acts as the liaison between users, SCADA Vendor, D&IT PMO (during deployment), and IT technical teams (Security, Infrastructure, Applications, etc.)
- Support control room regulatory requirements for HMI screen development, alarm management, change management, and Point-to-Point, in compliance with PHMSA & CRM, as applicable.
- Documents the functional designs for all enhancements and projects for the GeoSCADA system.
- Define the requirements for communicating with DCS, RTUs, and PLCs during the deployment of GeoSCADA.
- Support training for new users of the GeoSCADA system.
- Facilitate decision making and arbitration relating to trade-offs both within and between GeoSCADA and other applications (ex. Billing, OSI PI)
- Evaluate and facilitate purchasing of new hardware used for pipeline device communication.
- Works with the technical teams in the execution and design of application enhancements and digital projects related to, or interfacing with, GeoSCADA.
- Delegate tasks and responsibilities to appropriate IT personnel as needed.
- Ensures uptime of the application and is available to resolve issues as primary point-of-contact for the Operations Control Center outside of working hours.
- Configuration & management of the GeoSCADA system tag, alarm, and script database.
- Install new software releases, patches & program fixes for the pipeline SCADA system
- Understand the interface requirements & manage the technical interface for external & internal business applications.
- Assists the business users and interface with the other technical support teams in support of application for critical issues.
- Configuration & management of the user accounts to manage access control & security of GeoSCADA.
- Assist the users (customers) in acceptance testing, developing procedures, and updating documentation.

Qualifications
Education, Training or Certification Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, or a related discipline
- 5+ years experience with ClearSCADA/GeoSCADA product suite
- Strong knowledge of Pipeline Operations, processes and SCADA applications
- 10+ years experience in: Pipeline Operations, IT, or SCADA operations/applications
General Requirements and Knowledge

- Ability to understand and translate business requirements into technical requirements and vice versa
- Demonstrated understanding of SQL Database operation
- Expert in ClearSCADA and/or GeoSCADA applications
- Knowledge of pipeline field instrumentation, communication with distributed control systems and networking hardware.
- Strong interpersonal skills: Gets to know others and forms relationships, maintains very good relationships with colleagues, respects the ideas and opinions of others.

- Preference to candidates that have Microsoft certification, OR other applicable certifications

- Working knowledge of the Google Suite of office tools
