McGraw Hill is seeking a K-12 Product Designer to help us create next generation digital learning experiences for our K-12 Science program. We’re looking for someone who can develop innovative solutions, brainstorm and translate high-level visions into compellingprint and digital experiences. If you have apassion for learning, teaching, and engaging media design then this is an opportunity to join a company creating the future of education!

This is currently a remote position,and the role will be filled as a 12-month contract.

What you will be doing:
  • Developing concepts into visually engaging designs that appropriately align with and extend product strategy and goals.
  • Ensuring delivery and multiple production hand-offs within a strategic initiative.
  • Creating digital prototypes and mockups for user testing and product development.
  • Developing the design rationale and explaining visual choices to cross-functional teams and key stakeholders.
  • Advocating for the user throughout product development.

We’re looking for someone with...
  • A BA or formal design degree.
  • 2+yearsof experience with web + print design, and technology development with specific expertise with web-based applications.
  • Experience creating wireframes as well as visual design comps.
  • A portfolio demonstrating strong visual sensibilities, compelling ideas, and a thorough understanding of design process.
  • Strong working knowledge of the full Adobe Creative Suite: Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign.
  • Experience with Interaction Design, new media design, HCI, or related field is desired.
  • Knowledge of usability and coding practices for accessibility.
  • Fluency with web standards and technologies, including CSS, HTML.
