Print Layout Designer Jobs

Hawthorn Creative is looking for an experienced, passionate print layout designerwith strong fundamental design knowledge and the ability to effectively bring fresh design ideas to life in print. We are accepting resumes for a mid- or senior print layout designer with strong fundamental design skills. The ideal candidate has exceptional editorial or layout samples, is fully knowledgeable on print best practices, and is a top-notch communicator. You will be client-facing as well as project-managing the timeline and deadlines of our event brochure projects. Your duties will also include the creation, edits, and placement of advertisements for our event, hospitality, and travel clients.

Our projects focus on weddings,events, travel, and tourism marketingfor our clients who are some of the biggest and most notable names in the hospitality industry (hotels and resorts, ski resorts, hotel brands, wedding venues, and beyond).

Hawthorn Creative is a fast-paced environment so this person needs to be an excellent multi-tasker, be able to work under pressure and independently, and effectively communicate with internal and external clients.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:

• May also be involved in the design of brochures, magazines, and websites as well as various other print and digital marketing material.
• Designing and processing the advertisements that appear in those publications.
• Developing on-trend editorial-style print layouts for our wedding and event brochure clients.
• You work independently with oversight and mentorship from our Vice President and Art Director.

WHAT YOU NEED FOR THIS POSITION:

• Ability to effectively communicate with internal and external clients.
• Web design skills are a huge plus!
• Knowledge of the latest design trends.
• A bachelor’s degree in graphic design or related field.
• Expert-level software skills in Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator (in that order).
• Strong fundamental design skills.
• Ability to work independently, as well as collaboratively and meet aggressive deadlines.
• Proficiency with standard concepts, practices, and procedures of design and printing.
• 3+ years of professional design experience, ideally with a combination of print and digital.
