Photo Gallery Assistant Manager

FULL-TIME PERMANENT SALARIED POSITION HIRING IMMEDIATELY

Upper East Side photography gallery dealing in vintage photography in the prestigious Fuller Building seeks full time administrative assistant with excellent computer skills to manage all aspects of the gallery business. Position reports directly to owner.

DUTIES/SKILLS INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

Matting and framing vintage photographs, bookkeeping duties including accounts payable, accounts receivable and statement reconciliations (Quickbooks), creating invoices and consignments (through Adobe InDesign), email blasts (ConstantContact), website maintenance (ArtLogic), graphic design for marketing and exhibition materials (InDesign), writing press releases (Microsoft Word) and creating price lists for each exhibition (4-5 a year), scanning photographs and digitally archiving the images in a highly organized fashion, knowledge of image specs and file formats using Adobe Bridge and Photoshop, packing and shipping artwork for domestic and international orders through USPS and FedEx, answering telephones, and other duties required for the day to day running of an art gallery.

MUST have some knowledge of photographs as art

MUST have previous gallery or museum experience

MUST be proficient in Mac and Windows

MUST be a motivated, professional individual who can work independently and possesses the life experience to take on such a position

Salary: $42,000-$48,000 (Commensurate with experience)

SALARY IS BASED ON A FULL-TIME 30 HOUR WORK WEEK

(Tuesday-Saturday, 10:30am-5pm with half hour lunch)

SUMMER MONTHS (JULY & AUGUST) ARE 24 HOUR WEEKS
