Job Description

We are seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented, and experienced Film Photo Lab Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our film processing and printing lab. The successful candidate will demonstrate a deep understanding of both color and black-and-white film processing and printing, as well as a strong grasp of the technical aspects of photographic equipment, particularly Noritsu Film Processors and Scanners. This role demands the ability to multitask, manage a team, maintain high levels of quality and efficiency while working under tight deadlines, and provide excellent customer service.


Responsibilities:

  1. Overseeing and managing all film development, processing, and printing operations within the lab using Noritsu Film Processors and Scanners.
  2. Training, mentoring, and managing lab staff to ensure the highest level of quality in the processing and printing of all film.
  3. Regularly maintaining, calibrating, and troubleshooting lab equipment, including Noritsu Film Processors and Scanners, ensuring its optimal performance.
  4. Implementing and maintaining quality control procedures to ensure consistent and high-quality output.
  5. Managing inventory of film, chemicals, and other lab supplies, and reordering as necessary.
  6. Providing customer service where needed, including responding to queries, resolving issues, and maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction.
  7. Keeping abreast of industry trends and advances in film processing technology, particularly with Noritsu equipment.
  8. Ensuring the lab complies with all safety and environmental regulations.
  9. Coordinating with vendors and equipment suppliers, particularly those related to Noritsu equipment.
  10. Assisting in the creation and maintenance of work schedules to ensure adequate staffing.
  11. Generating reports detailing lab operations, productivity, customer service interactions, and other key performance indicators.
  12. Collaborating with the marketing and sales teams to promote lab services and increase customer engagement.
  13. Resolving technical issues, troubleshooting problems with Noritsu equipment, and escalating more complex issues as necessary.
  14. Filling in where needed to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.


Qualifications:

  1. Proven experience in a film lab environment, with a strong understanding of film processing and printing techniques.
  2. Specific knowledge of and experience with Noritsu Film Processors and Scanners.
  3. Knowledge of darkroom procedures, equipment, and safety measures.
  4. Excellent organizational, leadership, and customer service skills.
  5. Proficient in relevant computer applications and ability to quickly learn new software or processes.
  6. Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively manage customer inquiries and complaints.
  7. Able to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines without compromising on quality or customer satisfaction.
  8. Strong technical troubleshooting skills, particularly with Noritsu equipment.
