ORDER FULFILLMENT MANAGER
The Order Fulfillment (OF) Manager is responsible for supervising all activities that are related to the order processing of a company. This includes accuracy of order entry, ensuring packages are correctly labeled, preparing fulfillment partners to execute and compiling reports about the volume of processed orders and On Time Delivery. The OF Manager’s goal is to ensure orders are fulfilled as quickly, accurately, and cost-effectively as possible.
As the point person between manufacturing plants, finished goods warehouses and the customer fulfillment managers must ensure that the warehouse has a sufficient amount of products to meet the needs of their customers. This involves matching supply with demand through interdepartmental processes like Sales Inventory and Operations Planning (SIOP).
Responsibilities
- Provide data-backed and actionable updates to senior management to improve order fulfillment SLAs and partner performance.
- Support efforts to attain certifications (such as ISO 9001)
- Monitor inventories in the ERP system to maintain appropriate levels of products.
- Working alongside a 3PL to optimize warehouse and fulfillment operations.
- Check accuracy of order entry, administration, and shipping
- Prevent inventory shrinkage, accidents, and occupational hazards.
- Prepare fulfillment partners to ship new products as they are introduced.
- Ensure readiness of fulfillment partners (i.e., manufacturing sites and 3PL warehouses) to ship customer orders
- Develop standard operating procedures (SOPs) for inventory control, logistics management, and order fulfillment to meet operational goals.
- Use the ERP system to process and track orders, maintain customer information, and monitor contracts or agreements for expiration or renewal.
- Coordinate with the internal team and other stakeholders (i.e., ERP consultants, freight carriers, 3PL staff, etc.) to troubleshoot and resolve order processing issues.
- Implement scalable business processes for order processing, shipping and customer interaction related to order management.Ensure that service level agreements (SLAs) and other customer expectations are met.
Requirements
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Data-based decision maker
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- A Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in supply chain management, project management, business, logistics operations, or other related field
- 5+ years of experience managing full-time and part-time employees or serving on leadership teams.
- Track record of delivering on goals
- 5+ years of industry experience in fulfillment, supply chain operations, or warehouse management
- Experience using digital logistics tools such as inventory management systems (IMS), transportation management systems (TMS), and warehouse management systems (WMS)
