TASTE for Equity is seeking an enthusiastic, skilled and detail-oriented Operations Coordinator to play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth functioning of our organization’s day-to-day operations. The Operations Coordinator will collaborate with various teams, volunteers and contractors to manage workflow, logistics and information, monitor and report on various aspects of operations, and support the overall efficiency of the organization and success of our mission. The successful applicant will be an independent contractor with contemporary experience in similar projects.
Responsibilities
Project Support:
- Address any unexpected operational issues promptly and effectively.
- Coordinate resources, timelines, and deliverables to ensure projects are completed on schedule and within budget.
- Assist project leads in planning, executing, and monitoring workflow.
Communication:
- Act as a liaison between various teams, ensuring timely and accurate information flow and alignment.
- Maintain clear and open communication channels among volunteers, teams, and leadership.
Logistics Management:
- Assist in creating materials and resources for volunteers.
- Implement and uphold quality control standards to ensure that operational activities meet established guidelines.
- Assist in training new volunteers and educating them about organization processes.
- Arrange and coordinate logistics for events, meetings, and activities.
Data Management:
- Present findings of data analysis to leadership and provide insights for decision-making.
- Organize and maintain organizational data, records, and documentation.
- Ensure all operational processes are well-documented and accessible to relevant team members.
- Ensure general data accuracy and availability for reporting.
- Liaise with bookkeeper to ensure transactions are accurate and invoices and payments are sent in a timely fashion.
Process Improvement:
- Identify operational challenges and work proactively to find solutions that drive continuous improvement.
- Identify areas for operational improvement and suggest solutions to enhance efficiency, effectiveness, and volunteer satisfaction.
Qualifications
- Little supervision.
- Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and draw meaningful insights.
- Problem-solving mindset with the ability to adapt to changing situations.
- Lived commitment to advancing equity in the metro Portland area
- Team player with the ability to work collaboratively and independently.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in using office productivity tools and software (esp Google Workspace tools)
- Demonstrate excellent time management skills with the ability to work independently with
- Proven experience in volunteer management, operations coordination or a similar role.
- Passion for the organization's mission and values.

Contract Type: Contract (1099)
Location: Remote/work from home (occasional need to be on site in Portland)
Hours: An average of 40 hours/month though additional work will be required the weeks leading up to the November 17th Gala
Rate: $40-50/hour depending on qualifications and experience
Reports to: Steering Committee Chair
