JOB SUMMARY:
The Nurse Technician II (NT II) is accountable for supporting patient care activities, under the supervision of a registered nurse on inpatient nursing units. The NT II works closely with the charge nurse and staff nurses to assure that patient care needs are met. The NT II is competent in performing patient care activities, as delegated, and adheres to patient safety measures. The NT II has knowledge of medical terminology and possesses communication, organizational, and computer skills. The NT II demonstrates personal and professional effectiveness.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Education/Licensure/Specialized Training:
a. Education: Completed two (2) semesters of a Baccalaureate Nursing curriculum, in addition to a nursing fundamentals course. Remains actively enrolled in an accredited school of nursing.
b. Licensure/Certification: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
2. Equipment Operated: Nurse Call system and headwall, patient bed, head wall devices, vital sign monitoring equipment, supply-dispensing machines.

Requirements for Nurse Externs Transition Program (NEXT)
This is a two step process application. You will get an additional application emailed to you, this is mandatory for you to complete and returned to be considered for the position.
- Currently enrolled in an accredited nursing baccalaureate or
- Graduation date to occur within one year of hire or at minimum
- Must be entering into senior level year (last one or two semesters)
- Hold and maintain a cumulative nursing GPA of 3.0 minimum
- Must work a minimum of 24 hours (two 12-hour shifts) a month
- Holds a current Basic Life Support
