Job Description
Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP, one of the world’s leading global law firms with offices in strategic hubs of commerce, law, and government across North America, Asia, Europe, and the Middle East, is seeking to hire a New Business Intake Specialist. The New Business Intake Specialist is responsible for keeping rates and billing setups in the Elite Financial System, as well as processing the finance portion of new clients and matters that come through the new business process. In addition, this position will assist the team with setting up alternative fee arrangements in the Firm’s Matter Management application.
This position will reside in the Orange County office with a hybrid in-office/remote working schedule.
Responsibilities:
  • Prints deal rate reports on demand for various attorneys and staff
  • Communicates with attorneys and Practice Group Professionals to gather details regarding alternative pricing arrangements.
  • Reviews all new matters and clients, via the New Business Intake system (NBI), ensuring fee arrangements (billing and pricing) information is correctly entered.
  • Upon request, creates and maintains task listings in Elite for clients and matters.
  • Maintains / updates personal matters and phone extensions in Elite.
  • Sets timekeeper rates in Elite.
  • Inputs pricing data in Client Pricing or Matter Management databases to track alternate fee arrangements against client approved budgets.
  • Inputs matter budgets into our Matter Management application
  • Monitors client deal rates due for review.
  • Monitors and sets proforma billings for all client secondments.
Education and Experience:
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, the ability to balance multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent written/verbal communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to read and interpret general business documents, instructions, and manuals, write routine business correspondence, and speak effectively with employees, clients, and vendors.
  • High school diploma
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of professional experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.

For positions in Orange County, CA, the salary range for this job posting is:
$56,708.00 - $90,732.50.
The base salary or hourly wage range for this position will be determined during the interview process and will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limited to prior experience, relevant expertise, current business needs, and market factors. The final salary or hourly wages offered may be outside of this range based on other reasons and individual circumstances. Additionally, salary or hourly wages may be only part of the total compensation package. The total compensation package for this position may also include a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
