Msfs- Hedge Fund Compliance Regulatory Reporting Analyst- Associate

The Compliance/Regulatory group within Morgan Stanley Fund Services provides a service around regulatory reporting such as Form PF, Annex IV, and other filings appropriate to a hedge fund client. The group is responsible for support of a regulatory portal that will be utilized by hedge fund clients.

The group currently seeks an analyst to assist join the team. Daily activities include compiling and verifying data needed for various filings, from multiple MSFS applications and counterparty reporting. The candidate will liaise with various groups within the MSFS organization such as Accounting and Investor Services to ensure the integrity of data that flows into reporting. The role also involves conducting business analysis on content needed for filings, writing up specifications documents and testing of the regulatory portal that clients will log on to. This is a client facing role hence client service/relationship skills are very important.

Skills

The candidate should possess:

• Great interpersonal skills as the role calls for dealing with clients on a day to day basis.
• Accounting knowledge and experience with hedge fund administration greatly desired.
• 2 – 3 years of prime broker/hedge fund operations/hedge fund administrator experience
• Some compliance or regulatory experience at a hedge fund or other asset management firm, law firm, compliance consulting firm or investment bank is desired but not required
• Very detailed oriented, must possess excellent Excel skills and have the ability to write up detailed specs for the technology team to implement.

Requirements

• 2-3+ years of relevant experience
• Bachelors in Accounting/Finance

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $85,000 and $120,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
