Mobile Designer - Remote

Summary

We are seeking an experienced Mobile Designer responsible for the strategy and execution of delivering end-to-end designs for a variety of native mobile applications. This individual has a keen sense of how to balance the needs of the business and the customer when creating user flows, wireframes, and visual designs. You’ll work as an individual designer among a fun group of developers and product team members that are excited to pave the digital landscape within the building and manufacturing industry. We are a growing group of awesomeness that is breaking new ground in how we digitally connect with builders, contractors, and home owners.

Key Responsibilities And Activities

• Create user solutions that overcome customer pain points in product exploration, quoting, order tracking, and customer services
• Develop, manage and maintain mobile design components and a design system
• Responsible for the mobile design strategy and the execution of creating and delivering designs in each sprint for multiple epics, features, and stories
• Collaborate as an individual designer with a team of developers and product partners to ensure designs are compatible with backend and frontend technology capabilities
• Participate in QA testing to affirm the user experience and design is as expected before deploying to production
• Design functional mobile UX and interactive UI that is intuitive and easy-to-use, while imagining new and creative experiences that engage and delight

Required Knowledge And Skill Sets

• Comfort in ambiguity, self-starter, and has the agility to work in a new, evolving team environment
• Experience working in scrum team environments
• Strong understanding of how to design feature work iteratively; sketch of full experience that can be broken down into smaller layers for dev work
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively across internal and external teams
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; the ability to listen well and empathize
• Experience with Figma, Invision, Sketch, Zeplin, or other design applications
• Nice-to-have, but not required – experience with or understanding of technical app development
• Portfolio of work containing end-to-end flows and visual designs demonstrating ‘what’ the problem was, ‘who’ it was for and ‘how’ it was solved
• 4+ years of demonstrated experience working in mobile app design for Android and iOS (e.g. native, react native, PWA, web-responsive)
• Experience interacting with senior management and presenting material to stakeholders

Education And/or Experience

• 2- or 4 -Year accredited degree or courses in Design, Graphic Design or relevant field with high proficiency in using graphic software and strong digital design skills.
• 4+ Years of relevant digital design experiences, preferably in mobile.

Computer Skills

Proficient in design software and resources. Soft experience working in MS Office, Power Point, and Project Management software.
