Medically Home operates a decentralized care model for patients with serious, complex or high-risk illnesses in partnership with health systems to safely care for their patients at home, across the care continuum, including hospital-level care. Medically Home provides health systems with all that is needed to safely care for patients, including the clinical protocols, reimbursement model, platform technology, and fulfillment of all the clinical services required in the home through partners. Clinicians and patients broadly prefer this model over traditional care; both clinical and financial outcomes are improved as compared to traditional care.
Job Summary:
Medically Home is seeking an experienced and visionary Director of UI/UX and Mobile Engineering to lead our talented teams of UI/UX and mobile developers. In this position, you will be responsible for managing and driving the strategic direction of these teams, ensuring the successful delivery of high-quality user experiences across our digital platforms. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in software engineering, UI/UX design, and mobile development, combined with strong leadership skills and a proven track record of managing and inspiring engineering teams. Responsibilities:
Team Leadership and Management:
- Oversee the recruitment, onboarding, and retention of top-tier engineering talent.
- Effectively manage resources, budgets, and timelines to ensure successful project delivery.
- Foster a collaborative and innovative work environment, encouraging creativity, teamwork, and professional growth.
- Define and communicate team goals, objectives, and performance expectations to ensure alignment with the company's strategic vision.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations, provide constructive feedback, and promote skill development within the teams.
- Provide strong leadership and guidance to a diverse group of software engineers, including UI/UX designers and mobile developers.
Strategic Planning and Execution:
- Stay up to date with industry trends and emerging technologies, providing recommendations for their integration into our development practices.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance development practices, increase productivity, and streamline workflows.
- Develop and implement best practices, processes, and methodologies to optimize software development lifecycle and ensure efficient project execution.
- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders, including product managers, designers, and other engineering teams, to help define the overall software engineering strategy and roadmap.
UI/UX and Mobile Development Expertise:
- Conduct code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards, best practices, and industry guidelines.
- Provide technical oversight and guidance to the mobile development team, ensuring the delivery of high-quality and performance mobile applications.
- Lead and guide the UI/UX team in creating visually appealing, user-centric designs that enhance the overall user experience.
- Troubleshoot complex technical issues, provide guidance on problem resolution, and foster a culture of technical excellence within the teams.
- Collaborate with product managers and designers to translate user requirements and business goals into well-designed software solutions.
Communication and Collaboration:
- Effectively communicate project statuses, risks, and opportunities to executive stakeholders and other relevant departments.
- Promote a culture of open communication and knowledge sharing, encouraging collaboration and idea exchange among team members.
- Collaborate with UX research and analytics teams to gather user feedback and drive data-informed decision-making.
- Foster strong partnerships with cross-functional teams to align software engineering efforts with business objectives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field. Masters degree preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a. focus on innovation and continuous improvement.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and inspire teams.
- Proven track record of successfully delivering large-scale software projects on time and within budget.
- Strong knowledge of UI/UX design principles, usability best practices, and mobile development frameworks.
- A passion for staying abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies.
- Demonstrated experience in a management capacity, leading and mentoring software engineering teams.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as JavaScript, Swift, Kotlin, or React Native.
- Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies and familiarity with modern software development tools and practices.
- 10+ years of progressive experience in software engineering, with a focus on UI/UX design and mobile development.
