Medical Education Manager Jobs

Position Overview

The Medical Education Manager will develop and provide training on medical content to a variety of internal and external audiences specific to the Precision Oncology Business Unit within Exact Sciences; including the Medical team, Commercial team, Market Access team, healthcare professionals, key opinion leaders, and research collaborators to inform, educate, and elevate disease state and product awareness. This role is responsible for the development, management, and implementation of Medical Education initiatives, with a focus on content development for the Medical Organization and support for Medical advisory boards and other external engagements. This role liaises with all Medical team functions and will oversee medical education sessions and training to support product knowledge, clinical/real-world evidence dissemination, and an understanding of the competitive landscape.

Essential Duties

Include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Lead the strategic development and tactical execution of the internal and external non-promotional Medical Education strategy.
• Ability to act with an inclusion mindset and model these behaviors for the organization.
• Assist in the management of databases and repositories to support internal access to accurate, evidence-based, and balanced scientific/medical information.
• Ability to travel 10% of working time away from work location, may include overnight/weekend travel.
• Deliver education sessions and trainings on clinical/medical and scientific information across the Medical Organization.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Maintain scientific, competitive, and disease specific knowledge to ensure accuracy of Medical Education materials.
• Interact with internal stakeholders to ensure proper utilization and dissemination of medical educational materials.
• May lead or participate in the development of a Medical team on-boarding and knowledge assessment plan.
• Result-driven and highly motivated; committed to achieving goals and passionate about furthering the Exact Sciences mission.
• Collaborate with Medical team leadership on departmental strategies to ensure that tactical implementation of internal and external Medical Education initiatives is aligned with team and corporate goals.
• High level prioritization, multi-tasking, and project management skills.
• Complete annual/ongoing needs assessments specific to Medical Education strategy to ensure consistency and alignment with cross-functional and corporate priorities.
• Superior customer service and interpersonal skills; proven track record of fostering relationships, establishing partnerships, and collaborating on projects with stakeholders across multiple segments.
• Demonstrated expertise in product information and communication management.
• Perform on-going gap analyses related to medical education and training demands; develop recommendations and manage initiatives based on information learned.
• Excellent problem solving and decision-making skills.
• Demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize assigned workload and employ efficient time management strategies when performing Medical Education and/or external engagement activities.
• Support and comply with the company’s Quality Management System policies and procedures.
• Ability to work on a mobile device, tablet, or in front of a computer screen and/or perform typing for approximately 50% of a typical working day.
• Support Commercial and Market Access teams with strategic alignment of medical educational materials.
• Demonstrated knowledge of and ability to apply relevant legal, regulatory, and compliance requirements to communication and dissemination of medical information.
• Lead the development, management, and maintenance of Medical Education materials.
• Uphold company mission and values through accountability, innovation, integrity, quality, and teamwork.
• Strong attention to detail, with a focus on producing high quality work.
• Ensure the accurate, fair-balanced, and timely dissemination of product knowledge and medical information to both internal and external stakeholders.
• Oversee content development and support the execution of Medical advisory boards and other external engagements.
• Maintain regular and reliable attendance.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify innovative approaches for leveraging and delivering scientific information to meet business and customer needs.

Minimum Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability to perform the Essential Duties of the position with or without accommodation.
• Advanced Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
• Professional working knowledge with medical information and/or education within the molecular diagnostics or pharma/biotechnology space.
• Ph.D./Pharm.D. OR Master’s degree in related scientific field and 5 years of relevant experience in lieu of Ph.D./Pharm.D.
• 5+ years of experience in a field related to the essential duties of the job.
• Previous education and training experience, including experience hosting and presenting webinar-style educational sessions via teleconferencing platform (Adobe Connect, WebEx, etc.).
• Experience in vendor relationship management.
• Professional working knowledge of medical terminology, pathophysiology, and statistics.

Preferred Qualifications

• Ph.D. or PharmD.

Salary Range:

$105,000.00 - $168,000.00

The annual base salary shown is a national range for this position on a full-time basis and may differ by hiring location. In addition, this position is bonus eligible, and is eligible to receive company stock upon hire as well as annually. Benefits offered include a retirement savings plan, paid vacation, holiday and personal days, paid caregiver/parental leave, and health benefits to include medical, prescription drug, dental and vision coverage in accordance with the terms, conditions, and eligibility requirements of the applicable plans.
