Advantage | Forbes Books has an exciting opportunity for a talented sales professional with a demonstrated track record of success with growing existing and new lines of business. This is a role for someone who is comfortable devising, executing, and refining strategies for promoting and selling content, marketing and media services to business leaders. The successful candidate is expected to connect with influential business leaders and effectively answer their questions, informing them of the details of our services with a compelling value proposition that incites purchase.


The Media Sales Consultant will be provided prospects and also source leads from our ideal customer profile pool, using a variety of prospecting tools and platforms. Achievements will be measured in calls booked, calls held, and services sold.


The mission of the Media Sales Consultant is to source, qualify, and sell prospects to support overall company-wide revenue targets.


Our inbound and outbound lead process is well defined. We are now applying it to develop an adjacent line of business by repackaging our proven, existing media services for a new client base. Together, the Media Sales Consultant along with Sales and Marketing leadership will develop funnel metrics, processes, and sales enablement tools to improve lead quality, conversion rates, and sales velocity. The strategy is a key tenet to position the business for scalable growth and profitability. We are a VERY data and process-driven organization with a winning mentality.


Top performers will be considered for promotion to VP of Member Development, selling larger publishing and media services.


Expected Outcomes

  • Help define the potential multiple of this revenue stream. Create a culture of innovation and optimization, where strategies and processes are tested and refined on a continuous basis and then translated into repeatable and scalable results. Ensure the voice of the customer is heard and translated to leadership in order to produce assets that achieve their highest and best use.
  • Contribute to and implement the strategic plan for this new line of business. Work directly with company leaders to develop and implement the strategic plan to achieve or beat related company revenue goals.
  • Support front-end funnel and pipeline growth for company-wide annual revenue target through successful achievement of Discovery Calls Held and Prospects Sold targets.

Preferred Skills and Experiences

  • Experience with Salesforce or other CRM
  • 4-year college degree, required.
  • Experienced in inside sales functions and systems
  • Training by Sandler Sales or other proven sales training
  • 3+ years sales experience selling media and/or marketing in a professional services environment, with demonstrated results


Work Environment

  • This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
