About OneGoal

OneGoal transforms postsecondary advising and support so that every student can define their own future. Together with our partners, we’re building a movement to close the opportunity gap. We work side-by-side with partner schools and districts to build their knowledge and capacity. The result is more equitable and effective support for all students. Our unique approach, honed over 15 years, prioritizes strong human relationships. And it’s proven to deliver real student impact. 82% of OneGoal high school graduates enroll in a postsecondary institution, and 73% of those who enroll persist one year after high school. An independent study by the University of Chicago found that OneGoal students are about 40% more likely to earn their postsecondary degrees than students from similar backgrounds. We are looking for individuals to join us in our pursuit of equity.

The Person

The Managing Director of Regional Operations (MDRO) will provide critical support to the Chief Regional Operating Officer (CROO) as a Chief of Staff and will directly support OneGoal’s six regions with a focus on business operations (Development, Finance, Human Assets, Data Solutions, Technology, and Legal). This person will be a strong project manager, leading high-altitude and high-impact projects for and with the CROO that cross and intersect with several functional teams. They will employ long-term, predictable operational planning for the year and beyond, and will create systems to examine progress-to-goal across functional team annual priorities. The MDRO will employ savvy triage systems to ensure that time-sensitive work moves forward quickly. Lastly, the MDRO will lead team culture, engagement, and communication strategy, ensuring that each Executive Director and the VP of Partnerships & Growth are clear on progress, work ahead, and opportunities to grow. Alongside the MD of Program Implementation, the MDRO will directly lead or support the smooth and effective functioning of each region and convene Communities of Practice among regional and national staff.

  • Create guidance and operating norms that ensure the Regions, RegOps, and Partnerships & Growth are meeting expectations for operational excellence
  • Help set and monitor regional engagement, DEI, and retention targets
  • Develop and execute on a functional team DEI plan, partnering with internal and external stakeholders where necessary
  • Support and execute the professional development agenda of our Executive Directors, Regional Leadership Teams, and the Partnerships & Growth team
