The Transportation Operation Manager will partner with different members of the supply chain and store operations team to improve domestic transportation service, efficiency, and cost. The Transportation Operations Manager is an analytical professional who passionately leads projects, financial acumen, enjoys quantitative problem solving, metrics, research, and seeing improvement from their actions.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the timeline of developed transportation projects working with internal and external partners to reduce cost and improve service.
- Identify new cost cutting and service improvement initiatives across the supply chain, with the ability to complete and communicate the analytics to the Supply Chain team.
- Optimize and manage outbound and dedicated operational strategy and execution. Balance other costs of operations to minimize overall cost at the highest level of service possible while reducing risk.
- Develop and execute process improvement initiatives across the supply chain, with the ability to complete and communicate the analytics to the Supply Chain team.
- Use of Access and advanced Excel skills on a daily basis with the ability to build original reporting on current and new projects when needed.
- Complete weekly, monthly and quarterly reporting and analysis to showcase key metrics, with the ability to improve the existing reporting.
- Strong knowledge of outbound transportation operations, including carrier management and routing.
- Collect and analyze data, generate conclusions and action plan, monitor progress
- Lead and manage growth and development of 3PL, manage key carrier partnerships for retail delivery.
- Coordinate store schedule changes and communicate across cross functional team. Identify opportunities, develop plans and execute process improvement projects.
- Lead and manage the timeline of developed transportation projects working with internal and external partners to reduce cost and improve service.
Requirements :
Education (Required):
- Bachelor’s Degree in supply chain preferred
Skills (Required):
- Bachelor’s Degree required
- Understanding and experience in project management and exposure to project management methodologies
- A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected as part of the job performance and will need to rely on judgment and experience to accomplish goals
- 2-3 years project management experience required
- Flexible and adaptable in regards to learning and understanding new technologies
- Highly self motivated and directed
- 3-5 years of transportation related experience preferred
- Understanding and experience in P&L management and reporting
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
Experience (Required):
- 2+ years project management experience required
- 3+ years of transportation-related experience preferred
The anticipated salary range for this position is $105,400 – $158,200 depending on location, knowledge, skills, education and experience. This position is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. In addition, we offer comprehensive and competitive benefits to Associates (and their families) such as medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term and long-term disability. Eligible Associates are able to enroll in our company’s 401k plan. Associates will accrue paid time off up to 236 hours per year (inclusive of PTO, floating holidays, and paid holidays). Paid sick time up to 80 hours per year unless otherwise required by law.
