Job Description

Manager of Product Policy (Trust & Safety)


Location: New York City (1-2 days a week on-site)

New opening for an experienced Manager of Product Policy to lead a growing Product Policy team within a technology company. You will create, implement and write policy around many of the hot topics that are shaping our world today ie: AI ethics, hate speech, misinformation, politics, etc... This is a cross-functional position working with multiple teams to ensure our Trust & Safety procedures are aligned with industry best practices. We are working to help make the online world a safer place.


Summary:

  • Policy writing: misinformation, disinformation, hate speech, fake news, crime, etc..
  • Work closely with product teams on the creation and implementation of new products with the goal of ensuring Trust & Safety procedures are aligned with industry best practices.
  • Experience taking policy products from initial strategy to framework design to full product launch.
  • Lead a team of Policy Specialists on all policy creation, online policy, content policy, AI Research and global content regulations.


Experience must have:

  • Experience in content moderation.
  • 1-2 years people management (direct reports)
  • Excellent communication, writing and analytical skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
  • Experience creating and designing policy.
  • 3-4 years experience in product policy.


Nice to have:

  • Responsible AI research.
  • NGO nonprofit experience.
  • Content curation or online moderation.
  • Experience creating training and development programs.
  • Social media or online content experience.


Education:

  • Bachelors or Master's in Public Policy, Journalism, Legal, Anthropology, Sociology, Communications, or related field.
