Newsweek is actively looking for a Product Manager focused on monetization. This new role in our product team will interact with UX Designers, Developers, Sales and Ad Operations, offering freedom to conceptualize and implement new templates and advertising solutions focused on revenue optimization. Candidates should have previous experience implementing new ad formats and a proven record of optimizing revenue without compromising user experience.


Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:


  • Develop and execute effective monetization strategies for our website, mobile app, email, and other channels, to drive revenue growth.
  • Stay abreast of the latest media industry developments, regulations, and standards pertaining to monetization, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and policies surrounding advertising.
  • Cultivate and nurture relationships with third-party vendors and partners, including ad networks and data providers, to optimize revenue generation and leverage valuable partnerships.
  • Previous experience working with campaign management tools such as Google Ad Manager, understanding its potential and limitations.
  • Foster collaboration with cross-functional teams, including sales, engineering, content, and design, to ensure seamless alignment and successful implementation of monetization strategies.
  • Conduct comprehensive analysis of market trends, consumer behavior, and industry best practices to identify untapped revenue opportunities and enhance existing monetization strategies.
  • Proactively monitor and optimize key performance metrics, including revenue, ad impressions, and user engagement, to optimize profitability and maximize revenue potential.


Nice to have qualifications:


  • Understanding of common software project management practices and development cycles.
  • Previous experience working for media companies, familiar with content production and CMS functionalities;
  • Excellent time management and organizational and critical thinking skills, especially in situations with rushed timelines;
  • Ability to juggle multiple projects at the same time with various requirements, resources;
  • Ability to take initiative, solve problems and resolve issues;
  • Ability to see problems from a variety of angles and viewpoints;
