Position Summary


The Manager, Cargo Sales Strategic Partnerships is responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with key partners to achieve the company’s strategic goals. To develop and execute the commercial strategies of Hawaiian Air Cargo business and leading business development activities.


Key Responsibilities


  • Collaborate with Sales for the development and sustaining of customer relationships (freight forwarders, contract service providers, retail, and other large revenue sources)
  • Negotiate and execute contracts as required and resolves potential issues or problems with partners
  • Ensure partnerships are aligned with business objectives and are integrated into the company’s overall strategy
  • Meets revenue targets through execution of pre-planned objectives and measures results against plan
  • Identifying and evaluating potential partners and their compatibility with the company’s goals and objectives
  • Maintaining relationships with partners to ensure that both parties are satisfied and the goals of the partnership are being met
  • Maintains an awareness of competitive issues in the assigned region and makes recommendations on competitive actions to be taken
  • Identifying interline and strategic partners by evaluating compatibility and establishing mutually beneficial agreements
  • Help coordinate/maintain marketing advertisements
  • Resolves operational issues with appropriate internal resources
  • Analyze data and provide insights on how to optimize partnerships for greater success
  • Actively participates in cargo community and events (Air Cargo Associations) to elevate Hawaiian Air Cargo in said community
  • Must track the performance of partnerships and report on progress to senior cargo leadership
  • Professional development and other related duties as assigned
  • Works in concert with internal and GSA sales team members to further Hawaiian Airlines’ effort to attain more revenue in the mainland market and maintain a high profile for the department and company
  • Developing proposals and negotiating deals that are mutually beneficial to both parties
  • Identify new business opportunities and constantly strive to maintain strong relationships with existing business partners


Minimum Requirements


  • 4 years of strategic partnership or related work with experience setting goals and developing strategies to meet business objectives
  • Targeting and prioritization experience
  • Able to create strong relationships with business partners
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and other presentation tools
  • In addition to routine employment eligibility verification, U.S.-based airlines must gather information to validate country of citizenship and country of birth. Upon hire, you must provide documentation proving your current country of citizenship and birthplace.
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • 2 years of experience in new business development including cold calling, presenting, and meeting with potential partners, pricing proposals
  • Experience using internal and external reporting systems to develop strategies that optimize partnerships for greater business success
  • Ability to optimize resources to achieve outcomes
  • Strong knowledge of airlines domestic and international airfreight industry
  • Hawaiian Airlines is regulated by the Department of Transportation (DOT - regulation, 49 CFR part 40) and all applicants are advised that post-offer and/or pre-employment drug testing will be conducted to determine the presence of Marijuana, Cocaine, Opioids, PCP (Phencyclidine), and Amphetamine prior to any offer of employment or transfer into a safety-sensitive position.   • Willingness to travel
  • Ability to work independently


Preferred Qualifications


  • 4 year college degree or greater
  • 5+ years of cargo sales/marketing experience
