POSITION TITLE: Logistics and Inventory Manager
POSITION SUMMARY:
We have an exciting opportunity for a Logistics and Inventory Manager that will oversee the Shipping and Receiving team and work with colleagues to build out a new supply center. This person will partner with the Operations and Procurement teams to develop and execute strategies for obtaining best value for goods and services to support faculty and researchers at Scripps Research. This is a great position for someone to grow within a dynamic team while providing high-level administrative, technical and project support. The ideal candidate is motivated, detail-oriented and thrives in a fast-paced environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
- Perform departmental budgetary/analytical activities including dead stock analysis of inventory program.
- Key procurement stakeholder in supply chain logistics, with emphasis on materials management, shipment tracking, final-mile support, and supplier management.
- Reviews courier package transportation data to identify trends and opportunities for savings and efficiencies.
- Oversees shipping and receiving team.
- Point of contact for critical Institutional logistics issues requiring critical thinking and problem solving.
- Supports and expands Institutional Asset Lifecycle Management program with other stakeholders
- Details of established essential functions for this position will be addressed/discussed during the interview process.
- Manages and supports Shipping and Receiving activities including long term operational strategy.
- Lead role in establishing and maintaining on-site managed inventory (Supply Center) program including physical inventory management and financial/procurement workflows.
- Collaborative liaison between procurement/logistics teams, researchers, and Suppliers.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Exceptional professional written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
- Seven (7)+ years of relevant sourcing, contracting, and/or purchasing experience.
- Strong experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, )
- IATA, DOT, APICS (CSCP) or Six Sigma education or certification is strongly preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent combination of education, training and experience
- Expert-level knowledge and abilities within purchasing functions or ERP applications; Workday and Jaggaer SciQuest preferred
- Proven experience and proven success as a leader of a supply chain function.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
May include: Stationary position for an extended period of time, lifting, traverse campus/facility as needed, operate machinery such as computer, phone, copy machine; exposure to cold or hot temperatures.
COMPENSATION:
The expected hiring range for this position is $105,700 to $138,000/annually, commensurate with experience. Consideration will be given to experience that exceeds the listed requirements.
