At Biocair our Logistics Coordinator’s sit at the heart of our operations working in a fast-paced, constantly evolving environment with customer care being at the centre of all they do. The key driver for this role is to deliver the highest quality service in our industry by ensuring all shipments are managed in the safest, most efficient, and cost-effective way.


Responsibilities will include:


  • Ensuring that Biocair and customer systems (where required) are kept up to date with accurate and detailed information for each shipment and ensuring that the department always operates compliantly and within the law.
  • Ensuring all documentation for the import and export of Life Science materials and Dangerous Goods shipments are correctly classified, have the correct documentation and that the route solution is appropriately designed in accordance with transportation and international compliance regulations.
  • Building positive working relationships with internal stakeholders and working pro-actively with other teams in the US and all Biocair’s global locations to deliver excellent customer service.
  • Proactively monitoring the status of shipments, identifying and dealing with any issues as they arise and escalating appropriately where required.
  • Acting as the first point of contact for all shipping orders and enquiries, managing the end-to-end shipment process for specialized temperature-controlled pharmaceuticals and research and development chemical and biological materials on both a domestic and international basis whilst ensuring that customer interactions are always handled in a pro-active and professional manner.
  • Handling customer complaints promptly and effectively from receipt to resolution, escalating issues and seeking support from others where necessary, as well as taking ownership of investigations, root cause analysis and putting in place Corrective and Preventative Actions (CAPA’s) and providing regular updates to customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Developing and maintaining a close relationship with existing and potential clients by understanding needs, providing high levels of accurate and timely communication, ensuring complete satisfaction with the service provided and identifying service level improvements.
  • Liaising with suppliers to confirm documentation requirements, planning appropriate route solutions and obtaining timely updates on live shipments all the while developing a thorough knowledge of the Biocair supplier network and supplier capabilities to effectively plan routes that meet customer requirements.
  • Assisting in the delivery of effective cold chain solutions by communicating directly with scientists and pharmaceuticals shipping teams to ensure that each shipment is tailored to each individual customers specific needs as well as proactively managing costs at all times.

In addition, you will demonstrate these key competencies:


  • Education or a background in science, pharmaceutical or health sciences is desirable but not essential.
  • Experience of working within a multimodal logistics and/or freight forwarding role or pharmaceutical industry (ideally within a cold chain, time sensitive or pharmaceutical setting).
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail, strong self-organisation skills and the ability to plan and prioritise your workload whilst managing changing priorities to meet strict deadlines.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Resilience, the ability to show initiative, work on your own without supervision when required and be a true team player.
  • Problem-solving skills and a commitment to see issues through to resolution.
  • Exceptional customer service skills with demonstrable experience of managing client and supplier relationships, creating positive long lasting working relationships and a high level of trust.

Please note this is a full time role and based 100% onsite at our Los Angeles office. Hours are 8:30am to 5:30pm.
