We are hiring multiple roles within our Agency Loan Operations organization. The group is responsible for supporting multiple aspects of the corporate syndicated lending lifecycle including but not limited to loan closing, servicing and support, investor relations, letters of credit reconciliations, facilitating complex client onboarding, data management, and process controls. The team specializes in fulfilling the role of Administrative Agent in large corporate and institutional loan syndications. Team members must develop a strong proficiency across multiple aspects of the corporate lending lifecycle and coordinate across a wide array of internal and external stakeholders to be successful.
Applicants for this role will be considered for one of several functions within the Agency Loan Operations organization based on experience and qualifications.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure that quality of data, controls and processes performed meet internal policies and regulatory requirements/expectations.
- Coordinate and close loan transactions/lifecycle events, capture data, store documentation, troubleshoot issues/roadblocks, perform quality control
- Work with lines of business, transaction management, and loan operations to define and implement operational metrics and risk and control reviews to ensure all stakeholders have end to end transparency.
- Take part in loan remediation and loan system testing / migrations.
- Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citi, its clients and assets, by minimizing risk and driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
- Maintain close partnerships with stakeholders and clients to effectively and transparently manage day to day activity.
- Provide training and support to various internal and external partners and stakeholders for operational mechanics, capabilities and best practices.
- Aid in the design and implementation of technology including testing and rollout.
- Assist with the creation of processes, standards, procedures, controls, and training.
- Actively manage and maintain a deal closing pipeline of loan transactions.
- Support loan origination and lifecycle management activities primarily focused on large complex syndicated Admin Agent transactions and can also include bilateral loans and participations, across multiple business lines and product types, including but not limited to, large corporate, commercial, real estate, structured lending and trade.
- Continuously improve processes, controls and efficiencies within the group and front to back across loan lifecycle
- Participate in projects to enhance performance and efficiency.
Qualifications:
- Client relationship and solution skills
- Individual must have excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Individual must work well under tight deadlines, manage priorities, and complete assigned tasks with minimal management follow up.
- Developed analytical and problem-solving abilities
- 2-4 years (commercial preferred) loan ops experience, 1-6 years non-loan ops experience.
- Keen attention to detail
- Experience with Loan IQ, transaction capture tools, Loan accounting platforms, etc.
- Candidate has quantitative skills with a high proficiency with Excel and other Microsoft based programs.
- Tableau or visualization tool familiarity
Additional non-core qualifications which will be considered are:
- Deep understanding of operational processes supporting Wholesale lending
- Proven ability to collaborate with team members, Senior management and other business constituents
- Critical decision-making capabilities including the ability to identify, escalate, and propose solutions to problems
- Experience within a large global team supporting wholesale lending at large financial Institution
- Experience working with clients under time constraints to facilitate a transaction or process.
- Focus on achieving/exceeding key operating standards within a KPI/metrics driven culture
- Ability to work in an environment where priorities are frequently changing
- Understanding and awareness of appropriate corporate and regulatory policies in relation to Lending
- Ability to multi-task through the practice of strong organizational and time management skills with experience in continuously following-up with various stakeholders
- Knowledge of wholesale loan (syndicated / bilateral) product and business, including an understanding of legal loan documentation, loan / funding mechanics, deal structure, funds flows, etc.
