Legal Entity Strategy And Simplification Overview

The Legal Entity Strategy and Simplification team (LESST) was formed with the following key objectives:

• Define firmwide legal entity strategy, including efforts to simplify our structures and other sources of complexity
• Manage execution of specific goals and actions through a cross line of business governance framework that leverages consistent reporting and success criteria

The firm's legal entity structure has evolved as a result of several drivers including regulation, acquisitions, and the facilitation of business activities. As part of the regulatory and controls agenda the firm has established a legal entity simplification strategy to reduce unnecessary complexity and risk while also maximizing the alignment of legal entities with business objectives. The group plays a critical role within the firm, managing the development, review, and execution of this strategy on an end-to-end basis through the Legal Entity Strategy Group Forum, consisting of senior representatives across functions and business lines.

Job Responsibilities

• Partner closely with line of business Legal Entity (LE) simplification contacts, Legal Entity Owners, Technology and the Inter-entity Analysis Group (IAG) to facilitate Legal Entity simplification efforts
• Review and approve Legal Entity related modifications requests to update information in Global Entity Management System (GEMS)
• Proactively liaise with Legal Entity contacts to ensure the Legal Entity elimination status/timeline are accurately maintained in the Global Entity Management System (GEMS), the firm's golden source for legal entity reference data
• Assist with the review and preparation of monthly Legal Entity metric reporting
• Maintain and identify opportunities to enhance the team's Confluence page
• Identify and escalate risks (as required) related to the execution of Legal Entity simplification plans
• Prepare ad hoc Legal Entity analytics for reporting to senior governance groups

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, And Skills

• Able to work effectively with others and act as an effective liaison; ability to challenge constructively
• Strong initiative and work ethic
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Strong analytical acumen, experience in performing analysis or interpreting data to demonstrate analytical/ critical thinking
• Effective time management; ability to meet deadlines
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required
• Strong communication skills and ability to synthesize Legal Entity analytics for executive level presentations

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, And Skills

• Strong Excel skills (e.g., pivot tables and v-lookups)
• Ability to create PowerPoint presentations for various forums
• Familiarity with automation tools (i.e. Tableau, Xceptor, etc.)
