The Learning & Development Specialist, works under the direction and leadership of the Group Director of Training & Development and alongside the Craft Trainer (or Training & Development Team?); and is primarily responsible for the sourcing and development of high-quality, relevant learning content for employee development, including both Technical and Leadership Skills. Additionally, this position is responsible for the scheduling and administration responsibilities, of the Blythe Construction Training and Leadership Academy and Program functions.
Core Responsibilities
- Coordinates Trainee Training Program(s), including contacting Trainees and Supervisors.
- Remain aware of emerging instructional technologies and make recommendations about when to adopt certain systems to continue to offer the best learning experience possible
- Maintains and Oversees the functioning and utilization of the Learning Management System.
- Devise modes of assessment, such as surveys, tests, or quizzes, to measure the effectiveness of the courses
- In coordination with the Training & Development Director, builds relationships and conducts research with subject-matter experts to identify L&D needs.
- Designs and Conducts assessments and surveys to measure the efficacy of training programs and platforms.
- Oversees and Prepares Reports on Utilization of the Blythe Training Academy Resources.
- Communicates Training Schedules and Reminders; as well as Manager Exception Reports
- Create and deliver content using appropriate instructional methodologies based on adult learning principles, level, and complexity of learning objectives to design engaging learning and training solutions e.g., courses, games, videos, simulations, quizzes, etc. delivered via mobile, digital, or other broad reach vehicles
- Facilitates Trainee assessments to measure and determine appropriate learning interventions
- Design and develop comprehensive learning solutions, incorporating multiple deliverables (online, video, simulations, Instructor-led, Virtual, cohorts, etc.), to meet business and performance objectives
- Develops and Maintains Training Schedule(s), with coordination between various Departments and Operations
- In conjunction with Human Resources, maintains Attendance Records, using HR Record Keeping Software
Required Qualifications
- Experience with eLearning authoring tools such as Articulate Storyline/ and Adobe Captivate ideal
- Bachelor’s degree or college diploma (or equivalent) in Human Resources, Adult Education, Instructional Design, or related field.
- Knowledge and working experience with learning management systems (LMS)
- Minimum of (3) years of experience in L&D and/or instructional design.
Preferred Knowledge/Skills/Qualifications
- Experience working with HTML/SCORM/ACCI
- Adult education certification completed or in progress.

- Ability to take a project through the entire project lifecycle from intake request through implementation
Physical Demands
· Frequent ability to sit for prolonged periods of time;
· Frequent ability to talk and hear, both in person and by telephone;
· Frequent ability to operate standard office equipment, using hand and arm dexterity;
· Frequent ability to navigate through office environment, including periodic use of stairs or elevator, as needed;
· Infrequent ability to lift general office documents and materials, up to 10 pounds;
· Frequent vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment
· Work generally is performed in an office environment, although periodic visits to construction sites and asphalt manufacturing facilities is required, construction and asphalt facility visits, may expose position to general construction noise and environmental exposures, within the OSHA permissible exposure level(s)
· Noise level in the typical office work environment is quiet
